Can Mobile Drilling System be used on a Argon Merc?

Just want to know, i'm a bit puzzled because the Merc can hold it in its cargo bay

No.

The Mercury can also hold 125MW shields, Particle Accelerator Cannons, High Energy Plasma Throwers and Photon Pulse Cannons, yet it cannot use those either.

The Mercury can hold XL cargo, meaning it can carry any ware except station construction kits, regardless of whether what's in the cargo bay is compatible with the ship itself.

Remember, you can always look at your ship's information screen to see which weapons, shields and missiles are compatible with it. Also, there are a couple of database driven websites on the way, where this information can be looked up by those who cannot reach a copy of X2... (like me, here at work!).
