Mission in Omicron Lyrae

I'm trying to do it with a M6 class ship (Paranid Nemesis) but i'm afraid the ship is too big to get close enough to he Big one when my allied get in position........ :cry:

It is too big ... You need an M5 docked at your M6 ... I did this mission with a Centaur and a Pegasus. Use the M5 for the bit where you have to fly into position. Use the M6 for the rest.

In the same mission, what is the trick to knocking out those tiny rotating targets on that monster ship (to prevent the destruction of the planet)?

using my M6, I selected the target, waited for it to come around into view, i didn't manage to follow the target around and around. and then destroyed it, selected another one and repeat. my turrets kept the Khaak off my back.

Same as Orion1632 for me--worked OK, although it was a little slow (lots of odd little protrusions getting in the way of the shots).
