got damn flaks...
I've got the legendary Flak bug wich makes the flaks fire at full range and miss the targets no matter what...
Anyone know too fix it?

Quit back to windows (or linux) and then load a save .. works every time.
EDIT: The problem happens usually when you save in the middle of a fight (usually when flak is firing) but doesn't always happen. If you keep this in mind and just save when its quiet you will limit this problem to being a rarity that is easily remedied.

No, they do that if they hit the target.
Unlike a regular laser, the flak hit causes zero damage.
1 frame after the hit, a 20m radius explosion is created which does the actual damage.
Now Clusterf**k are special because their massive AOE effect is indeed only created at max range
instead of where the target is.
Pretty fireworks, though.

You've not been using them properly if you've found they suck. There is no weapon in the game that will clear fighters faster than FLAK (apart from possibly PSG, but that's only because PSG can hit more than one ship at a time).lastebil wrote:Flaks seem to suck in general to me, so I never use em
Just my 2 cents.

Tried that, and despite the apparently good stats, they seem unable to hit anything smaller than M6. Aiming is horrible...WildAce wrote:use EBC's until its fixed?
But I'm keeping them onboard just in case my flaks decide to stop working again. Something's better than nothing at least.
Aye, and I believe they suffer the same bug ? Haven't tried them myself yet though.Gazz wrote:SSC are Flak.
Yep. "Flak" is defined by a certain flag in TLaser/TBullets and there are 3 such lasers in TC.

Yes SSCs suffer as well. My game is off and on with no real reason as to why or when I'll see this 'feature'.X-Warrior B AS wrote:Tried that, and despite the apparently good stats, they seem unable to hit anything smaller than M6. Aiming is horrible...WildAce wrote:use EBC's until its fixed?

EBCs have faster speed of shot than HEPTs, but they also have a longer range, so automated turrets will tend to fire them long before they have a reasonable chance of hitting. You need to fire inside about 1.5km for good results.X-Warrior B AS wrote: Tried that, and despite the apparently good stats, they seem unable to hit anything smaller than M6.

It's apparently 200 ammo per crate for all types of ammo, a crate can take up different amounts of cargo space though. EBC takes up 1, M/AM warheads take up 4 and Gauss Cannon ammunition takes up 25.fretti wrote:well how is it about EBC's ammo? is it one shot = one cargo or 1 shot = a certain number before one cargo?

just equip a diffrent weapon.
too lose one flak just too be able too use the other is a acceptable loss, thou Egosoft should prio this

It is still a little annoying though, not being able to rely on your guns at all times.
