A few times now, I've opened up on a target with 8x pbe and had it do no shield damage whatsoever. I'm talking a sustained burst of 4-5 seconds. I definately hit the target. Switched to ebc, and the targets' shields went down.
This only seems to happen in dogfights where I get a low framerate.
Ideas?
Cheers.
PBE's do no damage

Bullet speed is your problem. (Not rate of fire =)DaveyP wrote:This only seems to happen in dogfights where I get a low framerate.
The bullets are so fast that they zip through the target between 2 frames so they never actually touch the target.
This would also happen with Flak.
Use slower lasers if your computer can't handle it or mod the PBE to be slower. 2000 m/s is a healthier value. =)

In a way, rate of fire plays a role because ROF can never be higher than frames / minute.
For maximum PBE firepower you need 20 FPS.
But even at 5 FPS you'd have a ROF of 300 or 5000 DPS / each PBE.
Far more than "not noticable".
However, if you get no damage whatsoever then it's due to bullet speed.
