Firefly Class TS for X2?
I've found that the Firefly class mid bulk transport from Firefly/Serenity has been added into X3 by modders, but does anyone know if there is a way to place this ship into X2? Thanks in advance for any help or replies.

Sadly such skills are way beyond me. I downloaded an xsp file of the version used in X3, but unfortunately I don't have the first clue as to what to do with it.

The minimum you would need to do is the following:
1. install the xsp file
2. unpack the resulting x3 mod files
3. identify the scene and body files
4. rename them to conform to X2
5. edit the MATERIAL settings in the body files to use X2 material
6. adjust the scene file to conform to X2 version
7. edit the TShips
8. pack everything into an X2 mod.
Of course, the model may not look good because there's no real retexturing up to now. And the model may slow down the game because of the poly count. You would need a 3D program for this like 3DS Max (expensive) or GMax (free, but you need to register).

This is a perfect oppurtunity to learn this stuff, if you're interested... That's how I learned this stuff: I wanted to have some of those Babylon5 ships available for X3 in X2...Sadly such skills are way beyond me.

It's a shame there is no "X2 Modders Guide for Dummies". Even with your instructions I am having some difficulty. I've downloaded GMax, but I am already stuck even at the first step.
When you say install the xsp file, I presume you mean install it into my X2 directory? Where should I place it exactly?

@Elder James:
Sorry for being late, I haven't seen your post before.
I assumed you know what to do with a xsp file. These are used with a special plugin manager for X3 and have nothing to do with X2.
You need to install the xsp file in X3 and unpack the X3 mod files. Then you need to identify the ship scene. You need the X3 plugin manager and X3Editor for this.
It's hard to explain for me. Suggestion: If you're still interested in this, you could post the link to the xsp-file. Drop a PM with your email adress, I can produce the gmax-file (not textured and with full polys) and send it to you.
