IBL Woes
What do I have to do to get my hands on some IBLs. Apart from my first Carrack which had 8 onboard, I've never salvaged anymore since then. I've capped Brigs, Zeus, Carracks and Akumas and nothing. The last Akuma I know had some onboard, so when I captured it checked it's cargo bay, nothing but my 10 marines and the cargobay lifesupport. Is this just bad luck or am I just cursed.

If you don't mind being a bit naughty you can do a little trick to clone things.
1. find a sector with a shipyard and an EQ dock
2. sell as many IBLs to the EQ dock as it'll take
3. at the shipyard, buy lots of Mercuries (or any cheap freighter)
4. When you get to the 'initial loadout' page buy up all the IBLs
Hooray, each freighter will have the IBLs on board.

That won't work, IBLs aren't normally stocked at EQ docks so when you do that they'll disappear.MegaJohnny wrote:If you don't mind being a bit naughty you can do a little trick to clone things.

I didn't know that. I thought they disappeared forever if you sold them to an EQ dock ?
EDIT: Ah, late post again !

I've never seen an EQ that has IBL's that the player can buy/clone in vanilla.

Or as in my case if they havn't got any anymore use the cheat codes to-
a) script in as many as you want.
b) Subtract their value plus around 50% from your account.
c) Pretend you did that by placing a bulk order with a supplier. (A feature i've long wished the games had.)

Hehe, that's exactly what I do - I hate that modified tag but I'm still not willing to let the game screw me with the rarity of certain items. It's always exactly 26 IBL's from the Brigantine, every single time I do it.Andy Barrett wrote:If you save your game just before the marines capture you can reload a few times until you get some. Last night I did this with a Brigantine and went from 11 Energy Bolt Chainguns to 22 CIGS then 26 IBL's!!
Andy.
My other strategy was to use the hub to connect a pirate sector with a pirate station to weaver's tempest and made all the yaki stations friendly.

Well, from all the posts I guess its either try capping a Commonwealth M2 or trying to improve my rep with the Yaki. I haven't managed to find an Oddy without a small battle group in tow and I don't know where to begin in trying to get the Yaki to like me. Its probably the 4 Ryu and 2 Akuma's that I seemed to have aquired.
