SETA Problems
Hello all I just bought x3 Terran today and have put 4 hours into it so far, I started a custom game and I have tried to use SETA multiple times to no avail. I have pressed j, remapped the key to a joystick button, and clicked the SETA button in the HUD and all it does is make a small noise and continue at 1x speed. WTF is going on here?

Welcome aboard.
Have you read the required information sticky, as it hard to know what you are working with - without it.

Hello,
I have (had) this problem aswell - with a Saitek X52 HOTAS. When you are using joystick - the analogue sliders usually tend to switch off SETA as they are a bit "jittery". Especially the throttle one - i can SETA only if I move the throttle stick in either 0 or 100%, anywhere between it is jittery.
Note: - the X52 does not have any issues with the MODE switch, only on transition from one mode to another it is stopping the SETA, else not, but to be honest i never used it (as you can map most of the controls on the HOTAS).
cheers,
me

again thanks for all the excellent support it just so happens that I have a Saitek X52 FCS (Throttle & Yoke), however I like the feel of the Keyboard & Mouse better it is nice to know that someone else has resolved this issue incase I feel like I want a "simulation" experience. Just an offbase question, have any of you had "sticking" or "jumpy" problems with the X52 on any game, mainly concerning the throttle and attached sliders?

Perhaps a link would be illuminating.pjknibbs wrote:There's usually a solution to the problem if you want to use the joystick, though...for instance, the problem with Saitek X45 and X52 joysticks is the MODE switch, and you can provide command-line parameters to the game so it ignores the switch entirely, allowing SETA to work.
