Best way to get IBLs?
What is the best way to get IBLs (and a fairly large supply of them) in vanilla?
I was thinking of once I get an M7 using that to blow up the IBL forges and wait for the god engine to move in some transports with them and cap those.
Or should I nurse the pirate standings?
Or should I just shoot for boarding Pirate ships?

Capture commonwelth & pirate M1/M2 ships. A few lucky ops and you are drowning in the things.
Or, you can play nice and hack a pirate station selling them blue if possible.

Done that and it is a very, very slow way to get them. You think PPCs take ages to make? These things seem to be PPC*Ion Cannon*Gauss cannon cycle times. You can grow facial hair in the time it takes them to think about making one.Or, you can play nice and hack a pirate station selling them blue if possible.
Personally I head for Senator's badlands and capture the Akumas that spawn there. Got about 30 from one, now that stock is running out I am going back for more. They are dead easy to take with an M7M.

Still, I prefer this over the previous ST/UT and IBL situation (1.4).delray wrote:In 2.0 I believe IBLs, PBGs and Boarding Pods are just spawned by scripts on regular basis. Just like Aldrin guns. EEMPC just appear in the Unknown Bases there so it's full of them all the time.
Kind of renders STs in Aldrin useless.
The Yaki's have 2 IBL factories, and if you're lucky the one in LooManck's is still alive. Those 3 should produce a modest amount. But yes, its a nice little challenge to get them
Blow up Ryus in Ocracoke's Storm. They occasionally drop IBLs - and often enough that you don't need to grow facial hair!

Maybe I exaggerated with word useless. Indeed Ryu is cool (like everything you cap), and looks decent too, yes. But it's not very useful since it's both slower and has smaller cargo bay than Elephant. And even Elephant is smallish for a TL.
My Ryu usually sits in Argon 148 training marines cause for TL I prefer something like Mammoth, Orca or Mobile Mining Base (or all three).

I built 5 factory (1-ore mine,2-wheat farm and 2-space fuel destilery) to Loomancstrat's Legacy and feed pirates IBL forge all what they need! And i put one of tanker to IBL forge and i buy all what they produse!
PS!I hawe with pirates good relations and yakis but i kill them to,but still we hawe business!
Soon i build IBL forge support factorys to Weaver's Tempest to,there must build at least 3 wheat farm,2 spasefuel destillery,2 cristall fabs, one sillicon mine and solar power plant!

Something's not right in your game if a Ryu has a smaller cargo bay than an Elephant. In my game an Elephant has 34k non-expandable cargo space, whereas a Ryu has 34k base expandable to 36k.delray wrote:Maybe I exaggerated with word useless. Uhm, I meant hangar but whatever.
Let's summarise:
Ryu vs Elephant:
- Smaller hangar (2 ships less)
- Slower speed (131 vs 120)
- One 200mj shield less
But:
- Bigger cargo bay (2k)
- IBLs all over without energy to shoot them though. Elephant can mount them in its back turret only and even shoot a while.

im having such a hard time getting some IBL's, a ship dropped 2 and i brought one. I managed to get 2 more but me game crashed
defo time to train some marines and cap a pirate m7/m1/m2.
Is it right, if my marines are maxed out on engineering there is a greater chance of weapons and equipment being left on the ship ??

It was actually rather simple, load up a Freight Drone with guns (any gun, but missiles/wares do not work, never tested shields), then run the drone over. The drone would be back in your cargo bay with the cargo that you put in it as well. However there would be crates floating in space containing the same guns. So if you loaded a Freight Drone with 100 ID's then you would get 200 ID's back at no cost. Freight Drones are reusuable and IIRC the ship that was being used had to be unable to equip said gun in order for the exploit to work.perkint wrote:Care to elaborate? Cloned Terran PSP's, SSC's, M/AM's, and hard to get Commonwealth guns. So if you had 2 PALC's you could in theory turn the 2 into 1000 or as many as you wanted.
Edit:
NOTICE
This will not work for 2.0/1.4 (and possibly 1.3).
