My friends (cheating) art of SETA exploits
My friend has discovered the advantages of find a nice quiet area and setting SETA on X1000 for about 6 hours. He had 5 Universe transports.
6 hours later and he had 40,000,000cr!!!!
Incase anyone was struggling to get money then this is a easy way to make money. Just stay off the beaten path and hit SETA and "Kaching!"
THIS IS AN EXPLOIT!
I hate exploits, therefore i am only giving this advice and not taking it myself.

This has been known, and exploited, since X2. And it's not only an exploit, but a large waster of energy. If 'your friend' is that much in need of cash, tell 'him' to simply script it in and help save the environment.
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

That's because you haven't changed it in the Gameplay Options.Deadaim wrote:yes..but my seta only goes up to 600

If it was exploit it would have been fixed long ago.
Seems more of an option for those with less time on their hands to stay vanilla and unmoded. As was stated above there is a price, in-game time and real world cost plus system use.
Good way to learn the game then start a new game with more ideas on where to take your story.

The end of a trilogy does not mean an end to a series.

6 rl hours seta = 60 hours ingame ...
in this time you could have made about 500 million cr. easily ... VERY easily, that "seta exploit" is just wasted time, really
... what is a drop of rain, compared to the storm? ... what is a thought, compared to the mind? ... our unity is full of wonder which your tiny individualism cannot even conceive ... I've heard it all before ... you're saying nothing new ... I thought I saw a rainbow ... but I guess it wasn't true ... you cannot make me listen ... I cannot make you hear ... you find your way to heaven ... I'll meet you when you're there ...
No - it's exploiting a game feature. The only exploits that get "fixed" are where it's an exploit of a bug and the bug gets fixed.Aro wrote:If it was exploit it would have been fixed long ago.

Struggling to find something from the forums - Google it!!!
40M credits? I score that in about an hour of missions in lazy-mode.

But at that point money becomes a different problem. You're building stations for the sole reason of haveing anothr place to stuff $2B cash in, or buying m2s to suicide in Xenon sectors.

another SETA exploit is if your ship is almost out of sheilds and your last save was ages ago or you have just found something realy cool IBL etc or u have almost finished a patrol and can be assed to do it again, is turn away from your enemy put on full speed and activate SETA, enemy weapons will not damage you as you put some distance between you this has worked for me since reunion.
Glory Be To The Sajuuk Khar
Doesn't always work, but has saved my arse several times when I was still in small ships. If weapons hit you seta is cancelled, but you can still try again.mcflurey667 wrote:another SETA exploit is if your ship is almost out of sheilds and your last save was ages ago or you have just found something realy cool IBL etc or u have almost finished a patrol and can be assed to do it again, is turn away from your enemy put on full speed and activate SETA, enemy weapons will not damage you as you put some distance between you this has worked for me since reunion.
note that ranks start to drain down after a certain amount of in-game time with no input; I'm not sure if _all_ ranks go down or just trading/fighting ones, but it happens.
iirc legend has it this starts to happen after an hour (or 6 minutes on SETA x10!) - ranks fall faster the higher they are, and they won't drop below a certain level - your seta'd traders will keep your trading rank going somewhat but your fighting rank will plummet... and that means you'll get rubbish rewards from missions
