One more IBL problem, spoilers needed
Like I said I (like many people) as I have seen, have a problem with this particularly rare weapon, that everybody else but the player seems to be fully loaded with.
I have managed to buy 2 of those out of the forge in LM Legacy but then the Borons destroyed it
I have tryed to befriend the Yaki but to no avail.
Boarding is not an option, (my personal rules for this game, poisoned Paranid start, vanilla and with intention to keep it that way).
Further more no TS seems to carry them anywhere in the Universe (I have spent countless hours scanning passing weapon dealers of every race but I found nothing. (Allthough I did manage to find 6 PPC's, 2 Ion Cannons, 2 Ion d's, 2 IPG,s and 200 wasps all ino ONE dealer )
Any ideas are more than welcome pleeaase!!!!!!!!
Thanks
PS: I have allready wasted a couple of Brigantine's Carrack's, Ryu, Akuma etc. but they dropped nothing but a few missiles and 2 or 3 CIG!!!!

for example, if you use a boreas to go hunting -> jump into any other ship and remote-command your boreas to kill the "IBL-wearing-ship" -> chances are MUCH higher that such stuff drops if it's not the playership that kills the target, so far i got quite a number IBL's
... what is a drop of rain, compared to the storm? ... what is a thought, compared to the mind? ... our unity is full of wonder which your tiny individualism cannot even conceive ... I've heard it all before ... you're saying nothing new ... I thought I saw a rainbow ... but I guess it wasn't true ... you cannot make me listen ... I cannot make you hear ... you find your way to heaven ... I'll meet you when you're there ...
the boreas was just an example ... any ship capable of killing one of the "caps" while AI controlled will do the job

Regarding the fab in LooManks.
Mines been destroyed too, doesn't seem to respawn / be rebuilt? Any ideas on why?
At some point in my game LooManks was totally wiped out (Loooooooong time ago now), the only thing to come back so far is the Anarchy Port.

Good, its taken a long time though. . . . . . other facts I've destroyed and prevented form respawning (by capping the TL) would have come back up to 3 times by now!

Yaki IBLs
It took a while with the Yaki, but I started with them by doing missions for the pirate station in the NW of Savage Spur. After many millions of $ (I got paid!), building stations especially, I got offered a taxi mission to the IBL forge in Weaver's. I had been waiting for a hack offer. After the taxi, I took missions in Weaver's. I eventually got some IBLs. Then I build my own support stations, supplied resources, and got more. Keep at it!
Bill in S.F., enjoying the game
Re: Yaki IBLs
Note that there isn't a pirate base there at the start of a normal game...you must have been lucky and got one that respawned there after being destroyed elsewhere in the universe.Bill Huntington wrote:It took a while with the Yaki, but I started with them by doing missions for the pirate station in the NW of Savage Spur.
What can I say?
I took destroy convoy missions, 3 of those to be exact, from that Yaki ship with the combat sign on it,allmost destroyed my reputation with every other race for it, I took building missions from the Pirate base in OS (yes I have one as well) even build them an ION-D forge.
Bah... nothing they still hate my guts.
Still no docking rights besides the fact that I also managed to get a hacking offer for one of the forges quite early in the game and everything else is still red except from their ships all blue to me except an Akuma and his rather large escort more than a dozen ships in Weaver's Tempest and the shipyard is neutral.
Nah I think I must start blowing things up.

why don't kill some brigandines/galleons? (Gaian Star/unknown/Maelstrom are my hunting grounds) they seem to drop a lot more!
(with the carracks the drop is really random... killed 10 and they dropped only rubbish... then killed the last and 4 IBL dropped!!!)

Yes I am afraid this finally will be the only way I have to get my hands on some but it is definately NOT my prefered method.
I especially try do avoid geting my combat rank too high!
Unless I can't find any other option this will probably be what I have to keep on doing since I did also a couple of times but nothing important droped.
