Flak artillary array problem

I'm experimenting with a thresher at the moment on the khaak "final fury" mission

Often the Flak artillary arrays hit the target first time, and are very effective, but then occasionally, they'll go kranky and completely fail to hit anything (appearing to fire past the target)

Does anyone know what's causing that like if its a bug or something?

This is a well known bug, yes--people have said it's triggered by using Salvage Insurance to save in space while the Flaks are actually firing, but I don't know if that's the real (or indeed the only) cause. Quitting the game, reloading, and changing sectors should fix it.

Don't save while FFA's are active, problem solved.
Of all the things i've lost, i miss my mind the most.

That is: any FFA, CFA or SSC in the sector, either yours or AI.
Now that I'm more careful with saving, my flaks rarely fail on me anymore.

From own experience i dont really agree to it being the problem..
It happened for me once in while (altough i knew about that not to save in sector thingy) but it keept happening, and also did in some of the final fury missions which got it impossible to complete with 20-30 khaak fighters beating on me without this great anti fighter weapon functionlly :(

Unfortunately not true. I NEVER save in combat and keep getting this issue at least once in every big battle. :cry:

I concur this problem may not be related to saving. It happened to me twice during a FF mission to escort transport ships in the Unknown Sector to Sector M148 near the South gate.

A Khaak Cluster appears to respawn endless M5's which kept my FAA's firing to the point where the laser energy does not rise past 1 percent. The Khaak M5's remained in the sector despite my escape to M148 and autosaving by docking at a station. When I re-entered the Unknown Sector they attacked me again, and kept my FAA's working, but the M5's appear to respawn within seconds :shock:

The only way I found to get rid of them is to jump to another sector and do not return for a while.

this happened to my PSSC on my springy, i have NEVER used salvage insurence, i just replaced with EEMPC, havnt checked if they work again yet, my flails on my cobra have falied aswell, now they just form a cloud next to enemy ship and blow up when they run out of fuel, and very rarely a stray one will hit the target, so yer lol flails are useless to me now :roll:
