Tractor beam problem

Im using my mamoth with a tractor beam on the rear turret, trying to shift an asteriod to a more suitable location. So ive backed up to3 km, 2km and basically nudging the riod and it wont connect properly, just shoots it then fades away... is this a glitch or am i missing something?

You cant tow an asteroid (in TC at least) if you havent put a station on it. No idea why though.

Ah! weird that makes little sense but thanks, quick response ;D i hope TC has improved riod dragging i found it clumsy and dangerous in X3R especially using seta

When you build the mine on it, when you shoot your beam at asteroid, hit him right at the tip of the structure on top of it. This way by flying around the asteroid you will be able to turn your mine any direction you want.
Where is it?
