[TC] Viper (M8) can mount boarding pods?

In stat on Viper showing both tomahawk & boarding pods under missile. I thought only M7M can use boarding pods, so what gives? Has anyone used M8 for boarding?

umm in my game it cannot use BP... have you modded your M8s by any chance? Even if it could mount BP, I have a feeling you are going to cause more stress trying to board with an M8. those missiles are not good for delicate work

No mods. I haven't tried boarding with it yet. I will try it tomorrow. It just when I open info on Viper, scrolled down and noticed boarding pod next to tomahawk for mounting front missiles. Do you see it?

M8 cannot carry marines, so even if they could fire boarding pods it could not perform any boarding operation

Maybe the code is locked, until future patch allowing M8 to be capable of carry marines. I guess they are working on issues or something. M8 would be excellent poor man M7M.

No, M8 are classified as "small" ships. That means they can be capped as any fighter, TS or TP. I don't think they will change this classification.

It's not clear to me why the M8 classifaction of "small" ship is important here. Yelgrun was hinting at a possible improvement of M8's so they can carry marines and can launch them. Now, I'm not sure how likely this all is, but I don't see why you can discard this by the fact that it is a "small" ship.

I stand corrected, I mixed up the capability to being boarded by marines with the possibility to carry and launch marines

Yes, but as already pointed out, yelgrun seems to be the only person playing the game whose M8s can mount Boarding Pods. I can see two possibilities here:

1) This is a feature that Egosoft are going to introduce later and somehow they shipped the only patch that unlocks it to yelgrun.

2) yelgrun's game is bugged.

Which do you think is more likely?

I didn't say I have mounted pods on Viper, just that I noticed in stat when I opened info of Viper showing both tomahawk and boarding pods. I checked it again, now it shows only tomahawk and it won't mount pods, I've tried. The game probably was bugged at that time. If it appears again, I will get screen shots.
