Unforgiving Boron
I've had an issue a few times now when capturing Pirate ships in Boron territory. The most recent example: during a station defense mission, I captured a pair of Pirate Ospreys. I have them traveling through the system to find a good shipyard to dock at when a Boron Military Heavy Hydra shows up, flags red, and heads right for them. I apologize and he blues out, but then flags red again and goes all out after them. Afterward, he decided to take on my Tiger that was minding its own business a few klicks away.
I've checked: no illegal goods, Boron are listed as Friend on all ships... do they just really really hold a grudge or something?
Thanks for any insight!

I had an Argon heavy centaur that destroyed a Teladi TL I had capped.
I jumped in and found the same guy from a previous save and sat on the TL with my Tiger (added it some shields also) and the offending Centaur went right past it and didn't dare open fire.
It was almost as if it noticed me in a bigger ship and decided not to bother.

Check that your captured ships have the correct friend/foe setting. Happend to me when I jumped a capped Galleon into Red Light to my HQ. 2 police busters went red - apologies accepted. Colossus that is in system did not change anyway. Galleon was 'foe' to Argon and had been shooting up Elena's Fortune ( that sounds rude! ) when I capped it. Good Luck, Neil
As I mentioned, the Friend/Foe settings were set to friendly... I can find no reason for the hostilities from such a "peace-loving" race.
Other interesting bits of info:
Only the M6+, not his escorts, are hostile (unless they're fired upon, of course).
The (M)oron is ignoring real pirate ships in the sector, closer to him, to swiss-cheese my former pirates.
This appears to be the same Heavy Hydra I aborted a capture attempt with in a previous life (read: discarded save file). Perhaps he knows what I *almost* did?
[Edit]
This time I managed to get both the Ospreys and my new Falcon docked before he got close enough to fire, then apologized. It seems to have stuck, and he turned to face the actual threat. Interesting.

Perhaps he sees the ship code as enemy and dosn't realize its under new management now
They may have a split pilot working for them and you know what those guys are like, Shot first ask questions later.
The odds of that thou is very slim as the Boron & split are not the best of friends to say the least

Hmmm, I'll have to try that later. Wouldn't have worked this time as I was too far away, but I'll definitely keep it in mind, and post the result if I get a chance to test it.Goldfinch wrote:Would it make any difference if you commed the hostile ship to apologise from the ships you capped?
Thanks!
