Boron furniture transporter?
Just noticed a "Boron furniture transporter" flying through space and it rather begs the question... what would a Boron have in the way of furniture?

Think Mon Calamari from Star Wars, as to what would be in Boron Living Quarters.
I have a new mission, re-create X-universe ships with Lego bricks...
Cut your teeth on the made-for-Lego Teladi capital ships, then graduate to the nice rounded Boron ones.em3e3 wrote:....

Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

That's a euphemism for 'Split Slave Carrier'.Deadbeat_Spinn wrote:In my new game I just saw a Split Humanitarian Transporter.......the universe has gone mad.

The TL class civilian ships provide a steady supply of recycled resources for my PHQ. I wouldn't like it at all if they were gone.RandomBandit wrote:heh, I love those 'useless' ships that fly around...they add character.

I had started at one time creating an X-2 Atlas (the plan was gonna put it around 5' long) but 75% of my brick collection is Technic so I stopped after creating the middle 'shaft' section and half of the rear 'X' propulsion section since I was quickly running out of surface and detail material.em3e3 wrote: http://gizmodo.com/5177817/52+pound-leg ... -on-impact

As for that Calamari, just pure wow. Not the overall size but the detail and effort to create surfaces/ curves. For the brickhead's out there, a friendly FYI: the revitalized Technic and the new Architecture lines along with the improved Digital Designer are opening amazing new oportunities and inner-child rebirths =D

On a related note, an observation which is new to me, but unlikely to be new to the old-timers:
Why are so many non-human ships named after Earth animals? Or have elephants and tigers been found to be an abundant life-form in the galaxy?
I suppose a get-out could be that the names are Terran-language approximations of the original Teladi, or whatever language? Hehehe.

Oh sure, they speak the same language (nice that Terran seems to be the galaxy default, despite "us" being the newcomers to their gate network), but why would they further honour us by naming their ships after our animals?
It's no biggy, I'd rather an Elephant than a Teldadi RargleFlargWuungaBeast (An M7M).
