X3:TC M6/M&/M7M/M8

Is it me or is there a general lack of fitting guides for the Terran Conflict line of Capital Ships, Frigates and Destroyers? o_o

Some of these ships are awesome from the look of the stats. Yet I haven't come across any guides on how to fit them. And plopping down a quarter of a billion on a ship one does not know how to fit is a bad idea. Yeah? o_o

For the lulz: Just because a Cerberus looks like a riot baton does not mean it'll function as one vs a Xenon K.

Look in the ulitimate guides sticky above, there is bound to be something that suits your need.

Nope. I've looked nothing. Even downloaded one of Apricots collective guides. And found nothing on any of the new TC vessels.

Either way I was just more curious towards what people did while playing TC, did they stick with the Reunion Capital Vessels, or actually try any of the newer ships to much success.

I've only tested a small portion of the new ships (all classes) and found some to be lots of fun and some to be low grade ****.

Yeah, the Cerberus is among the weakest of the M7's if you're trying to go against capitals, it fares better against fighters.

Out of curiousity what is an M&? :D (but I do know what you meant by it).

They're great against Khaak swarms though. Normally Khaak are absolutely brutal against your own fighters so putting them up as a fighter screen can be a very expensive proposition. The Cerberus can really help keep your M2s going vs massive swarms.

Admittedly that doesn't happen very much in the vanilla game. Add some scripts and mods designed explicitly to make the game harder and you'll be quite thankful to have a few Cerberus[es/i?] around.

I'm actually using quite a few things, Improved Races. MARS, Rebalanced Missiles, Missile Safety (Basically fixes the oft problem of obliterating yourself while dropping missiles on targets)

I've nuked myself twice with Hammerheads because of that x_x

As for the Cerberus, I honestly don't like how long it is. I'unno, I think I mightgo for an ATF/Terran developed ship. Or see if there is a "short" Destroyer/frigate I can find. I'm having problems utilizing the turret's arc of fire effectively. Even tho I rotate to try and give them a better bead to draw.

Jesus, not only is my Cerberus huge, but my Tyr happens to be one of the biggest damned ships in the game. x_x

Not quite a Planet Killer (which is the M0 (zero) class).

The Terran Valhalla is the true planet-killer.

Still a big ship. Enjoy it.

I lost my first two. I kinda gave up on the really large Capital Vessels, gimme Light Destroyers, and small frigates instead. ;D

In that case stay away from the Teladi. The Phoenix and Albatross are among the biggest of their class.

ehm. :D the Tyr is one of the smallest M2s... even the Thresher (Boron M7) is bigger than it...

Teladi Shrike is a perfectly deadly M7... small, well shielded, good guns. (Gauss, not IBLs)
