X3TC: Firing (multiple?) missiles from a M8?

Hi,
sorry if the following (stupid) question has been asked here before. I've looked around the forums and used Google but either I looked into the wrong direction or I didn't use the right search phrases; so far I couldn't find an answer.
I got my first M8

the Claymore from the Terran plot
along with a couple of missiles and took her out for a little ride. I'm not sure if I figured out the correct usage of this type of ship. The description says that the forward turret is for missiles so I expected that if I hop into that turret I could fire missiles (rapidly) by clicking the LMB (repeatedly). However nothing happens if I try that and so far the only way I found to launch a missile is the standard L button just like on any other ship. Am I missing something/do I have to do some special setup or is the kind of functionality I was expecting just not in the game?

The M7M has a command "Missile barrage" (under the additional commands menu IIRC) which unleashed generalised hell - does the M8 have the same? But even with that you manually launch with L.

You are far better off selling that shipo and buying almost any other M8 simply because you can buy the Tomahawkl missile in any Mil Outspost. Trying to find the terran equivilant is nearly impossible

Early in a game....Sell the Claymore the Terrans give you. Later on when you advance the game far enough to build your own phantom missile factories buy a new Claymore. It's hands down the best M8 in the game.....when it has missiles.

Until you get enough Phantom factories, leave the Claymore to sector trading duties and get another M8 - a single barrage of 8 (easy-to-find) Tomahawks wipes out 5 GJ of shielding...

yes, that's it. For a test I set the Terrans to foe and found me a Yokohama as guinea pig - the fireworks were impressive . :-)
