X3TC What are some tactics against an m3 pirate with a PBG while flying a sabre?

I keep trying to fight this m3 that is armed with a pbg with my sabre. There doesn't seem to be anything I can do. I try avoiding him and getting around him, but it doesn't work. If he decides to fire his pbg at me, I die. No questions asked. He might miss once, but no amount of swerving or erratic flying will ever make him miss twice. How do I avoid these things?

PBG has a limitted range. anything that can fire over 1.1 KM (or thereabouts) will work..... eventually.....

Is there any way to evade them while within their range? Maybe i'm not a good pilot, but I can't seem to make him miss at all.

Seeing as how the PBG is an Area Effect weapon, unlikely.

ION Disrupter/cannon might work. Eventually destroying the PBG. EVENTUALLY. might actually destroy the ship first, if you aren't really lucky.

EDIT: And since you mentioned a Terran ship (which can't use Boron Tech), that won't work.

You do not stand a chance against PBG in a Sabre, so stay away and use poltergeist missiles.

Sorry Geek. Disagree to a point. The PBG has a range of 787, (and fires, generally, forward ish). The Sabres' EMPC has a range of 2002.
Plus Poltergeist range of 12500.
U can stay well away, (with missiles) Or 'learn to dance', in close lazer contact. u can take it down.

In case of the enemy being a Falcon (or I suppose simply not having a rear turret), and is alone, then it is fairly easy to twist around behind the critter and blast away with impunity. Strafe is your friend.

No M3 can mount PBG in turrets which means if he's frying you then you're in front of him. Get behind him, stay behind him, and you'll win no problem.

they sabre can only mount empc, so all the other gun suggestions will not work. basically stay out of range and be patient.

if you have to take on several enemies though, it will be tough.

Get some help. If you are having trouble on your own find some sucker to hide behind, but make sure you fire the final kill shot.
Practice doesn't make perfect, but after a few successes you will know what to do.
