1. In order to gain access to the PHQ plot you must finish the HUB plot.
2. Avarice (renamed Unknown Sector in TC) cannot be bought in TC, only R.
3. Basic (i.e. Ore/Silicon), Illegal (Spaceweed/Spacefuel), Tech (Mosquito Missiles/1MJ Shields). Security depends on where you intend to set up the fac's.

ok next newbie question
where do you get hte treasuer trail quest form.
personaly i got mun in split fire whilst light pirate hunting (bonus point if you can find a capping guide for a terran pilot or just decent spots) but my freinds checked and couldnt find the quest? is it in random pirate sector or what?
Also speaking of the quest am i going to die lots of times on it and what are the eventual rewards (i added the bit about dying as it takes you to yaki core for gods sake!)

AFAIK the Treasure Hunt plot begins in a random Argon/Boron sector once you meet the requirements then you have to find the "blue book" icon on a Pirate station (I think).
Whether or not you're going to die (a lot) depends on your fight rank and what ship you're in, though getting on the Yaki's good side may improve your chances for survival. Your reward is a unique ship that you can only have one of........and you can't sell/RE it either.

ok really intrested.
which ship is it?
where roughly do you have to go
how can i make the yaki like me without slaughtering the inncoent (im a goody two shoes like that:)
or is it easier to just get a kesteral and zooom as i forced my freing with a fully specked titan to do the sector and well read my signature for a rough idea...

How to make the Yaki friendly:
Shoot Paranid in their sectors (including Savage Spur)
Complete missions from Yaki people throughout the commonwealth (you'll recognize them as a human with white hair and one white eye). The missions from Yaki fighters are usually to destroy, but you can find them in stations as well - those run the gamut (taxi, trade, build).
Check Senator's Badlands to see if the shipyard there is blue to you (it's Yaki border, not Yaki core, iirc). You can get missions there for rep credit.

how do you play the game for a year and only have 3,000,000? 3,000,000 is pocket change after game day 8. Maybe you should be asking how can I make more money? A good float at game day 8-13 is 20,000,000 with a complex kicking out ammo and missles. It's my opinion anyway.
The skunk really is a bare bones model. It doesn't even have a GPS to highlight the way. Or targeting software MK 2 to allow target selection and painting from the sector map. It lacks a Trading System Extention to show prices in the sector you are in. The lack of satellites in rebirth is also annoying to the trader/pirate looking for a mark.
Day 3, 80 million, only doing missions, buying/selling used ships, and selling 'abandoned' ships. No UTs, no complexes. And I'm going slow! Yeah, 3 million seems low, but he does have a Yokohama.Mr. Reeves wrote:how do you play the game for a year and only have 3,000,000? 3,000,000 is pocket change after game day 8. Use a Mammoth as a starter HQ.
I park a Mammoth inside the gate of Avarice and use it as a starter HQ. Most of what I collect (weapons, shields of all sizes, ammo, missiles, energy, commodities), just gets put here.
I keep an Iguana and a freighter handy to dispatch items where they are needed. If you need more storage, just get another Mammoth. This works until you get the Hub, and even after.

Bill in S.F., enjoying the game
Am I alone in my love of the Xperimental Shuttle? It's fast, nimble, has solid shielding (for an M3) and can mount 6 HEPTs. What's not to like?Burzumoza wrote:and may i add that the x shuttle is a hunk of junk
In truth I've been looking for an M3 with those kind of specs for some time, so on finally completing the Treasure hunt Quest (with no small amount of help from these forums!) I immediately took it as my personal fighter
Granted, the lack of a rear turret is slightly hampering, but it hasn't lessened my love of the ship any, and Iv'e not experienced any issues in docking it even given it's "Wide Load" label on the back of the left wing

X-shuttle...hmmm going OT here really, but I use it sometime as my personal scout ship.
Yes there are many things that players don't like about it,but the same could be said about most ships in TC or previous x games.
There will always be those that love a ship and those that loath the same ship.
The other thing that lovers of the x-shuttle would like is to RE it,but you can't.
On the subject of cash flow,it all boils down to your style of play.
If you are an explorer, you might just explore every sector you can find before you think about any trade. If you only play an hour per day, that would take a very long time before you start gaining cash flow.
On the other hand if you are into Pirate bashing or Nividium collecion, you could be on millions within the first few days of play.
There is no right or wrong way to play the game.Just different techniques that produce different results.

yes pirating is my income generator. I will hae to rearm and refuel between opps and I do take loses. Yet with a minimum 20,000,000 profit margin on an op gone sideways and agrowing operation and list of assets I can do more opps one after the other. The key is to have a constant supply of cannon fodder...er.. marines and bording pods...cant forget those...and flails and hammers and wasps and mosquitoes and falcon haulers and M6 and a battleship could be handy if I could catch one without being punched in the face quite so hard. OUCH!!! I got kicked in the teath really really hard trying to cap an Oddy with flak.

If you've found Nvidium mining after 8 days mabye start again??
If you use Nvidium to accrue your fortune then capping is something of a moot point. Train all those marines (which is easier in 2.5, not so many messages) to apparently lose most of them to capture an M1, M2, M6+ or whatever.
If you've found a way to make credits then expand your empire till you get full rank with everyone, you have the money to buy anything standard. Then pick off a ship at a time if that interests you.
That's just my point: Ships capped - only in missions.
Do anything you want, whenever you want, we all have our own views, but save first....

What do you get if you listen to suggestions by players of Rebirth? Walking around stations in a space sim!
