Problem with X Beyond The Frontier
Hi and I'm having trouble with X Beyond The Frontier. The problem is it keeps going like a scratched disk constantly reapting what its just done even though it has no visible marks or scratchs. The last time it worked was 3 months ago ive not download patchs i dont think it will help. I have just installed it again after fixing my computer could this have done something? And i dont think it could be graphics or memory etc because i can run x3 reuinion fine.
If anyone has any solutionss i would be thankfull if anyone could assist me

I get that in vanilla TC with nothing installed except the game and drivers on a fresh Win 7 .I even changed the sound card but from time to time I still get it.OOZ662 wrote:In a script-enabled game, an infinite-loop script can cause that. Due to the massive amount of stuff I have installed, this happens to me rather regularly...
P.S.I know it's not on topic but it is a personal curiosity
Well, it can happen from many system-related things. I currently have a (self-caused) problem of programs deciding to access invalid memory addresses and crapping out after a random amount of time. I used to have an issue with my graphics driver a LONG time ago that would do it.
Basically, it's caused by the game coming to a screeching halt to wait for something. Whether that's to gather the next sound clip, pull a texture for a ship that's just jumped in, or wait for a script to do something; if it's never delivered, it never stops waiting.

If the game as a whole freezes, the sound driver will keep repeating the last sound it was given. It's quite common for this to be reported as the cause of a problem when in fact it's just an effect.amtct wrote:What can cause that ?
Yes, except that this is X-BTF we're talking about, which didn't have a script engine.OOZ662 wrote:In a script-enabled game, an infinite-loop script can cause that.
That's quite unusual. I'd say it could be a graphics hardware or driver problem. A DXDiag report might help us diagnose whether that is the case or not.jefferz95 wrote:chears guys its the visiual that keeps reapeating its self.
