please help needed on khaak father saving mission in omicron

I have a split dragon with a split M5 in hanger and I am having trouble passing the omicron lyrae mission, tips needed on best way of passing this level. The M5 is destroyed trying to get to the becon on the mother ship and the split dragon is too hard to manuver, other techniques would be appreciated. I have just over 1 million spear credits. All techniques and advice would be appreciated. From United Bounty Hunters federation.

i used a nova, just fly straight in there, as long as youve got 3x25MW shields you dont need to worry about the khaak hitting you so much, just try & stay close to the alien mothership so youre protected by its shields

I used a Perseus.

Its flying skill needed for that bit, dont get tempted to fly round, go straight.(If you get my drift)
