SETA/ humble merchant/astroid minning

On page 32 of the manual itsays use your SETA whatever to speed up the voyage. whats this mean? Whats the device that makes your ship faster also?. A humble merchants ship can be equiped with weapons yeah?
Only merchants can trade also? Another question how do you mine asteroids?

Try it by yourself.  Fly through the East gat to The Hole: then South to The Wall.  Use your Seta [j] to speed up your voyage....

The part where people get my name wrong.

Personally, I think it's just a little easier for people to simply specify the game they're playing rather than having to search through every version of the manual for every game to try and find out.

might be engine tunings or it migh be the seta drive from the original question that makes it seem like your going faster...

any ship can be equipped with weapons, so yes is the answer....

Only merchants can trade also

anyone can trade, I believe your thinking that you need to be classed as a certain level to do stuff. In X you are what you are, and you can do what ever the manual suggests that only certain classes can do...

Another question how do you mine asteroids?

all I can say is read the manual a bit more.
