X-btf Help!!

Not long before X3-R was in the shops i got X-Gold but have only recently started playing X-BTF but i've got a problem.

I cant work out how to save!

Please help :(

Edit: Make fun of me all you want, i've wasted hours failing at this game just tell of how to save

To save the game you have to buy 'salvage insurance' when you're docked. It should be abvailable at all stationsa and costs about 10 credits.
