SETA continuation through gates
Is there currently a way to make it so that ships return to SETA if they are on autopilot and have a destination once they pass out of a jumpgate? A lot of this early game trading work is tedious, so sometimes I go read a book while the game is running and don't want to babysit my time elapsement device.
Yeah, yeah, call me lazy.

doesnt matter what sector - as long as big ships go there you can get squashed by any of them while in your mercuryNewEonOrchestra wrote:I've read your guys' horror stories about big crashes entering and exit gates. I'm still just a single Mercury trader, so crashing isn't the greatest of my worries at this time.
Oh well. Jump drive it is, I just hate losing my cargo space for energy cells.
most unlucky collision-deaths happen when you arrive in a sector and another ship arives a second after you
to avoid it try to get out of the possible accident site with strafedrive
anyways i dont know a way to keep the seta on while autopiloting through many sectors

Sheesh...you are sooo lazyNewEonOrchestra wrote:Yeah, yeah, call me lazy.
Whilst on autopillock you shouldn't really suffer collisions going thru gates - the AI abides by the traffic rules so you should be OK on that front. There are other issues to leaving the game playing itself, made worse by SETA.
After the game has been running for 1 hour (6 minutes at SETA x10) without detecting a key press, it decides it's lonely without you and is going to make you pay for leaving it alone
Your fight rank starts dropping.
Your trade rank starts dropping (can be offset by UT's, your stations and their freighters, etc).
The game is quite likely to randomly pick some of your ships/stations and nuke them!
Harsh mistress this game - doesn't like being left alone

Struggling to find something from the forums - Google it!!!
Not much though. AT best you will see your trade rank stop rising, at worst it will drop, but more slowly. Certainly it won't do well.perkint wrote: Your trade rank starts dropping (can be offset by UT's, your stations and their freighters, etc).
Well to be exact the same attacks that npc enemies make on your property continue as before, except that if the game is unnattended and running 10X faster what would have been a nuisance attack that would be easily dealt with becomes a disaster that can destroy entire complexes.perkint wrote: The game is quite likely to randomly pick some of your ships/stations and nuke them!

Or by befriending all pirate factions. However, as I have rambled semi-coherently about in this forum in the past, doing that makes that game rather boring.kurush wrote:Unless somebody can confirm otherwise, I think it only happens via pirates and you can make your stations safe by setting up a protection force. The game is quite likely to randomly pick some of your ships/stations and nuke them!
I've tried making them enemies again since, but the toll on my unescorted mining fleet was too high, so I reverted to them being friends again.
I won't be able to make them enemies and restore some of the fun to the game once I've re-organised my mining fleet/STs to have escorts and set up patrols in all the regions I operate in. That's going to take a while, since I have yet to solve the Q attacks problem.
You can have it one of two ways, all pirates like you, so the risk to shipping and stations is all but non existant, or they all dislike you and your stations and shipping are under constant threat of attack.
Each method supports a different playstyle, you just have to choose.
