Is there a way to automatically pick up fighter drones after an engagement?

I've found that fighter drones are excellent for keeping enemy capital ships busy.

However, I was wondering if there is a command that will have the fighter drones either return to my ship, or have my ship collect them in the same way as collecting a ware.

Do I need carrier command software on my corvette or something?

No.

The only way is if you have a ship with at least one free docking port, and you order the drones to protect your ship. If there's no fight, they should dock, but one by one.

Just to clarify...

If I'm in a corvette, then I'm out of luck,

but if I'm in a ship that can dock other ships (TM, some M7s, M1's) I'm good.

I think you can collect the drones by flying over them like you would any other cargo if they are set to standby.

I used to think there was no way to do this, but recently someone here posted a way that works. You can order the drones one by one to standby then pick them up like any normal cargo crate or satellite. This works well if you are in a small ship with no docking ports. If you have a ship with docking ports there are better ways.

I think the OP was asking about how to do it automatically, but yes you can picked them up manually as any crate.
