How do you set a ship to be a spacefly collector?

You'll have to buy a collector at Split or Pirate Equipment docks. The you'll have to spot the darn things around asteroids.

You'll also need an IonD to stun em then collect like other cargo. Don't think you can auto collect though.

The biggest challenge is actually finding enough space flies to make it worth while. :wink:

imo they are not as rare as you think. But you need some patience. After entering a sector (with asteroids) do some work in your menus. After some minutes you have a fair chance that spaceflies appear. Not thousands of them, but a dozen or two.

As an example: I have searched the last two weeks for the Aran. I have carefully searched more than 100 Unknown sectors. In about 40 - 60 percent of those sectors I have seen - no, not the Aran, but spaceflies :mrgreen:
