Which M2?
I'm looking to purchase my first M2. Which M2 would you recommend? I'm not looking to get a carrier type M2. I've read the other M2 posts but they all seem to be rather old so wanted to get opinions related to the newest patch (2.5). I'm primarily trying to decide between the Titan and the Oddy, although I will consider other recomendations.

If it was purely between the Titan and the Oddy ... for your FIRST M2, go with the Titan it's FAR cheaper. Unless of course you intend to steal one
If you ARE going to steal one, I'd recommend getting a Pirate Brigantine - it's not exactly fast but it's got a nice, almost steam-punky look to it and it's a pretty reasonable M2 (although a bit on the slow side)... it's probably my favourite personal M2 though since it can almost turn corners.
The Akuma is technically better but it's just not as much fun to fly.
If you want to be boring and have the most powerful M2 and can live with the uglies, go for the Boreas.
If you want a gate blockading monster of an M2 go for the Phoenix.
The Ray is an awesome anti-capital M2 which can mount up Ion-Cs and Gauss-Cs.
The Oddy is over-priced but can mount PSGs (I've found they have a tendency to crash into gates as well if you let the AI control them) - the Titan is cheap and cheerful but for some reason seems to die too easily, especially against Qs OoS and the poor little Python is somewhat under-powered in the shields and guns department... still, it's one of the better M2s to fly yourself.
There you go, has that muddied the waters for you?

Akuma's my favourite as a personal M2. 2nd fastest after the Python (only 2.2m/s slower) but with, IMO, much better weapons options. Good sized hold for missiles & exceptional anti-fighter capabilities - double the number of flak compatible gun mounts in its upper & lower turrets compared to most M2s. Slightly fewer anti-capital guns than most M2s, but definitely has enough to get the job done.

Any M2 as a personal ship will do, so it really depends on what you prefer, looks, speed, firepower, ect.. I'm a big fan of the Tyr, and its 20 gun solute but the tyr is an incredibly expensive ship considering you need an M7M with a ton of 5 star marines, plus loading one out is tough if you haven't completed the aldrin missions.
I voted for the Titan though cause i like the way it looks, lol.

Titan... don't worry about it... it's yer first M2 so get the entry level one. The titan is good on gas and has cupholders. Plus you can equip it easily with decent weapons.
Sure it's slow and kinda weak com pared to some other M2s but it's better to learn to drive in a station wagon before you race ferrari's
