Damage figures for PBG
Does anyone have any accurate per second damage statistics for the PBG? I've checked various spreadsheets and such like, but the figures given seem to be at odds with what I'm seeing it do.
Cheers.

That's because its an area of effect. The target receives 1 hit for evey hitbox hit by it, as opposed to every shot. Therefore, the PBG is usually doing much more than 10x the damage in the encyclopedia.
With a full loadout you can demolish a Frigate in seconds...
And they're horribly energy efficient!

Thing is, PBG's, like all area-of-effect weapons, don't respect your crosshairs. They'll damage ships you can't even see. So be warned.
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

I think that would only be a good idea if you'll be very close a lot, so that the AoE of the PBG doesn't work well. If you can manage to stay within the optimal kill-distance and have access to enough PBGs, replace the PBEs with PBGs.
Also, PBEs will drain your weapons energy so much faster than PBGs

Hehe, true. It only lasts a few moments longer if you are at knife-fight distance (which can happen quickly with multiple engagements). But then, I'm a mediocre pilot at bestBobucles wrote:Until the cloud touches the ship. Don't blink at that point, or you'll miss it!
Another thing that's really fun (if short) to do with PBGs is use them on Kha'ak Clusters. Fly straight at them and start firing at ~2.5km distance. The Cluster may have already broken up, but you still one-shot-kill all of them
