why is it that when i try to fly to the earth system, i always blow up??

cause if your ATF rank doesnt say "earth access" the torus lasers fire.

It's a shame you can't actually see the impending death coming your way. Although I don't know why they would point all the guns at the orbital accelerator when Xenon ships use jump beacons.

and if you fly past the Torus towards Earth, they will blow you up reguardless of your rank.

Is there a mod to remove that.. i would love to fly around free as a bird in that sector.

You don't need a mod, an indestructible ship works just fine and there are several the player can own. :D

There are a few opportunities to get indestructable ships.
One of them is the #DECA, obtainable through the use of 'Double-Boarding'. Another ship is the Syndicate Blastclaw which you have to follow for one mission. It doesn't usually bail but there's a way to force it to. Deadbeat_Spinn can probably tell you more about that. There's also the Truelight Seeker, again obtainable indestructable using double boarding. You can even get two of them through this method, although only one is unkillable.

Even with Earth access, don’t you have to manually fly to dock after comming for docking permission (because if the autopilot deviates from direct path lasers will fire).

But they did, quite a few in fact but the player wasn't meant to aquire/own indestructible versions. Indestructible ships/stations serve a very important purpose, and that is to prevent plot breaking.

As has been mentioned,
  • #Deca (must double board, with the second team killing your first team. There's a thread on stealing this ship).
  • TrueLight Seeker (can be done via double board or claim then board).
  • Syndicate Blastclaw (claim but the ship cannot be allowed to dock in order to claim it).
  • Enhanced Dolphin (claim, but 2.5 removed the indestructible tag).
There are also others in the universe,
  • Argon One (unboardable....so far).
  • Ozias (unboardable....so far).
  • Goner HCP (unboardable....have had no success yet).
  • Terran Odin (unboardable....so far).
  • Terran Skirnir (unboardable....have had no success yet).
  • Terran Vali (unboardable.... have had no success yet).
I'm sure there's more.

As a child I broke my fathers indestructible ice-scraper .

Not sure I understand the not docking part here. In what mission does it get spawned?
I actually got another weird indestructible ship here

But this one seems to be just random pirate spawn.

And to add to the list above, there is also a Terran Tyr that can't be killed or boarded.

The Syndicate Blastclaw is spawned near the end of the Goner plot. You have to follow it to it's destination.

Nope, once a plot ship has served it's purpose it can no longer cause a plot break because the task it was designed for has been completed. It's the same with the #Deca and TLS.
