Requesting ships or hands on help

Post by Lushent » Sat, 17. Apr 10, 19:20

I was wondering if someone out there could help me create two ship's I designed, (or one or the other) I call them the Vanguard, and the Avenger.

I'll post the link's to the picture's of them below, if anyone is interested please Reply,
I have a ton of information on the ship's, and more detailed pictures but ill save that for when someone wants to help me.

And yes these were made in spore.

Or maybe some hands on help to learning to create them myself.

You cant pay anyone as we are using and making a item for an EGOSOFT game plus there is no need.

Bumping is always the wrong answer. More often than not bumping results in a thread being locked.

Wait patiently for a response from someone, or at least if your gonna bump the thread don't say bump. At least make it worth while in saying something... just don't be rude about it

You might have better luck creating these by yourself. Take a look at Blender, read some tutorials, and get your feet wet. After awhile and quite a bit of practice you could design your own ships. Gimp is also a decent photoshop alternative you can use for textures.

There are better 3D modeling software programs, but Blender is free and has a huge fan base. The same goes for gimp.

Blender... is an odd one... there is also Gmax, and if you really wanna get simple Wings3D, wings though is limited to a 50k polygon model... wings though is a simple and easy to learn program, you can also export the file and work on it in Gmax later if you want to have more details on the model and also convert it into the format for X3 to use as a model

50k is more than you need for most models, especially your first few.

Have a go at making it yourself, I would guess that all those that can make ships (including me) are either busy with there own ship mods, part of a bigger team (DDTC/transcendect) or just busy in real life.

Plenty of people here that can help you out with any problems.

Yeah, personally I'd suggest Wings3D because compared to the other programs I've tried it's simple to learn, just export the model into another program like Gmax if you wanna convert it, there are guides to do this in the forum

Edit: side note though about wings I don't think it can do animations and such, like moving parts. You'd need a program like Gmax to do that I believe

Edit 2: I'd do the models for you but I'm still getting used to modeling myself, I haven't UV mapped or meshed at all
