[plot idea] Paranid Conflict

Plot IDEA


Requirements:
- Finished Aldrin 2.0 plot
- High Paranid reputation

Plot specification: Combat, command, smuggle.
Plot race: Paranid plot (you do missions for Paranids)


Plot Story:
After another diplomatic skirmish between Terran and Paranids (Paranids captured and executed Terran agents), Terrans release to public the proof that Paranids commited the act of genocide which provoked the Khaak to attack the Commonwealth.
The Paranids are suspended in rights of Comonwealth membership and the Commonwealth begun complete blocade of Paranid space and demand turning the Priest Emperor and Priest Duke to commowealth tribunal.

Race involvement:
Argon - reallly, REALLY pisted off, Khaak burned down the President's End and almost destroy the Omicron Lyrae and deal serius losses to Federal Navy. They are main supporters of Force solution.

Boron - they support Argon, but they opt for diplomatic solution- they are the initiatiors of blockade and ultimate (to delay the Argon-Paranid war that was almost started).

Split - so called Paranid allies, however the are mostly divided about whole situation. Some splits support Paranids and some support the Commonwealth (any reason for combat is good reason). Officially they support Commonwealth as they don't like the genocide - if it doesn't involve the Boron of course.

Teladi - most neutral to whole conflict, they don't like the blocade, they officially support the commonwealth, but this doesn't stop the Teladi blockades to be the weakest and most of blocaded runners went through them.

Pirate / Yaki - they try to stay away as this conflict involve heavy military activity that isn't good for looting. They sometimes offer the smuggling services to Paranid and raids on Paranids, paid by Argons. The easiest way to pass by the blockade is through Pirate space as commonwealth navies aren't able to cover such wast space while they are making full blockade in their own borders.

Terrans - the initiators of whole conflict, however they offically are neutral as they aren't the member of Commonwealth. The chaos of the incoming conflict is a good opportunity to do some more covert ops on Paranids and Commonwealth.

Khaak/Xenon- not involved as Khaak are pushed out of the X-universe, while Xenon sectors are away from Paranid space. Maybe exept xenon from X101 as they are in the middle of pirate space route that connect two parts of Paranid Empire.


Missions:

I have a few ideas for mission. Generally you start with small tasks, like fighter wing commanded, when conflict is still in diplomatic stage. You repel pirate attacks (sended by Argon). Border patrols (Argon will try to provoke you with breaking the blocade). Dealing with Terran covert ops.

Then you will be assigned to escort the international convoy of commonweath inspectors who will make an investigation in Perpetual Sins (once again Argons will try to sent Pirates to blame Paranids that they try to stop the investigation). Ohh and you will be promoted to M6 wing commander (plus TMs fighters).

Then you will be promoted to M7 (plus small support with M6, heavy M6 and TMs). Imperial command realize that the Force solution is imminent. You will be tasked with aiding the preparations to war, you will escort the convoys (variety of TS, TP, TM ,TL) that will try to breake the blockade, then you will be even in command of one deep space convoys, with which you will have to breake the blockade, then you will need to aquire designated amout of missiles, guns and shields (propably in Teladi or friendly split space), then breake back to Paranid Empire.

Once again you will be promoted and you will aquire adavance Paranid ship like Agammenon and Hyperions.
The war has started and Commonwealth is making a push into "Old Empire" space. you will be tasked in defence of Emperor Mines, this will be a stalling defensive as Argons will make a decisive push to Paranid Prime. You will defend the Paranid Prime (west) for some time. However joint Teladi and Boron forces making a push from the Trinity Sanctum to the north, threatening to cut the "Pirate route" to "New Empire"(Argons decided to make full push from Coudbase SE, leaving only small forces in Split Fire).

You will be tasked with the goverment evacuation (both Priest Emperor- with his M1 and Priest Duke with his M2). However you cannot use the Jumpdrive as Terrans break into the HUB and jam the gates tracking signal, preventing you from using the jump. You have to make a push through "Pirate route" to "New Empire" and deal with joint Teladi,Split and Argon Blockade in Hatikva's Faith. Once you're in Claritys End you will be notify that this small region (3 sectors) is at the brink of defense failure (numerous Commonweath fighters roaming those setors) and you will be tasked with retreating to Cardinals Domain where is the Central command of "New Empire" space.

When you arrive the you will be notify that "Old Empire" is under total Commonweath Ocupation. The "New Empire" defence if holding, for now.
The Splits at Heaven's Assertion are a bit pro-Paranid so the aren't making any strong push. Argons are pushing in the Sacred relicts and will break through soon. Borons are stopped at Pries refuge, but soon commonweath will send reinforcement from the north through Desecrated Skies.

You will be promoted to High Admiral of Pries Emperor and Pries Duke, you will get two M2 and one M1 and some M7s plus M6, M8 and fighters.

High command will send you to reiforce Sacred Relics defence as they evecuate the six western sectors to make a final stand in Pontifex Seclusion, Heaven's assertion, Dukes Citadel and Perpetual Sins. Once you hold the Argons for some time you will be ordered to evacuate to Pontifex Seclusion.

There you will be notify that Emperor and Duke are safe in Duke's Citadel and that they ordered the High Command to execute a plan to stop the imminent defeat. You will be infomed only on need to know basis and as a loyal servant of Duke and The Emperor, you will be assigned to a special mission to deliver a "package". You are ordered to break to the south-west through evacuated Paranid space (now controled by Boron and Teladi Forces) to Unholy Decent. then you will go west to unknown sector.

Here you will face the strong ATF task force (Wooden, Odin, 3 Tyrs and some M7s and M6). However they won't shoot at you but hail you instead.
They will inform you that you're carrying a launch codes for Paranid secret weapon. They will inform you that in the Unkown sector to the south, there is a Paranid M1 with small escort that is a relay station for dozen of bought/stolen commonweath capships, that are hidden in unknown or Pirate sectors (like unknown to the east of PTNI HQ). Those ships are loaded with same weapons that destroyed the Khaak home asteroid. When the launch codes are sended (through Paranid experimental relay network that is the byproduct of failed gate creation experiment in the end of X3 Reunion). Those ships will enter Commonwealth core sectors and launch their payload to sector planets and shipyards/war factories killing billions.

ATF claim that they can stop this because they are interested in aquiring those weapons to use on Xenon sectors. They also say that you have to help them coz if the Paranid plan will be executed, the Commonweath will propably not stop the war, but instead will start the total extermination of Paranid race.

ATF claim that this relay M1 is broadcasting the "all fine" signal to all bomb ship, and if this signal is cut for some time, they will begun their mission on their own. That's why ATF can't simply enter the system because Paranid might scuttle the M1 to launch the mission.

ATF will give you a specia device that will disable the relay M1 when you will be transfering the "launch code package".

You go to the south. Close to relay M1 and transfer the package. M1 will be disabled, local Paranid ships will become hostile (your ships stay loyal).
You will have to deal with the escort. In the same time ATF ship will jump in to support you. ATF M7Ms will begun capture operation. While other ATF ships will split and take a course to 3 separated sattelites groups (those are subspace relays). During capture operation relay M1 will launch all it's 42 fighters against 3 relay satelites groups. their task is to destroye those sattelites to cut bomb ships from "all clear signal" and making them run their mission. You will have to intercept them coz ATF ship are still on the way (some fighters and M6 might be already at relay, but this might be not enough). You have to protect all satelites.

When you are intercepting those fighters, Terran capture the relay M1 and start broadcasting "all clear" signal again so if you protect those satellites the bomb ships will think that this was a short communication malfunction.

When the area is secured, the ATF will notify you that they have all coordinates of those bomb ships and that other USC and ATF task forces are beginning capture operation. They also say that bomb ships have weak escort to avoid unecesary attention so it will be aesy to capture or destroy them.

They thank you for your help and say that this war could be avoided if other Paranids would be so open minded like you. They say that without this bombs, the Paranid Empire last stand will fall within days and that the Priest Emperor and Pries Duke have Khaak and Argon blood on their hands, that they again tried the act of genocide, so they need to be removed and turned to commonwealth if you want to avoid the full Commonweath occupation.
ATF commander say that before conflict, when there was diplomatic talks between Terran and Paranid. There was one high ranking Paranid figure who wanted to solve the conflict peacefully, the young Heir of Emperor Xaar who is also a relative of Priest Duke. Right now he is an Admiral, who command the defense of Heaven's Assertion. ATF say that he can ovethrow the Duke and The Emperor and bring back Paranid membership of commonwealth. ATF inform you that they notify the HUB control, so you can use jumpdrives again.


You jump to Heaven's Assertion. When you contact the Heir, you inform him about the true nature of Emperor and Duke. After he's informed, he made a decision to rebel against the Emperor and Duke. His forces are loyal to him. He also contact the (non-open) friendly Split to the east, who agree to help.
Heir warns you that Emperor and Duke made a decision to fight to the end and that they have a last bomb ship at their disposal and when situation become grim they will blow up the whole Duke's Citadel sector.

He say that they need to haste as Commonwealth has just defeated the Pontifex Seclusion defence and are preparing to make a final push to Duke's Citadel.

Heir contact the commonweath and the final plan is set.
Argon-Boron-Teladi Commonweath forces with attack from the west gate to draw attention. The joint You-Heir-friendly Split forces will jump through north gate and lie to Emperor/Duke forces that they find the gate from Heavens Assertion to Perperual sins and that they come to aid the Imperial Forces. Encouraged, Duke sent the bulk of his forces and himself (M2) to press against commonwealth force. Leaving only a small escort to the Bomb ship. Split and Heir forces are closing to Emperors flagship (M1) taskforce, while you close to the bomb ship. When you attack the bomb ship, Imperial forces will turn against you and Heir-Split forces. With no ace in their pockets, the Duke decide to die in the battle, while the Emperors forces are trying to make an all out attack against Heir and his ship.
Then the same ATF group you met earlier will gatelees jump to Emperors flagship position and Heir flagship position and begun capture operation of the first while defending the second.
When after some time the Emperors flagship is captured and the Duke is dead the rest of Imperial forces stand down. The war is over.

The last mission:
You are ordered to Paranid Prime, for the Heir coronation for the both Emperor and the Duke of Paranid Empire. With his coronation the Paranid are back in commonwealth, the Commonwealth occupation forces are leaving (this move from their sectors to border gate and then despawn).
You are reliefed from Imperial Navy duty. Decorated for loyal service for Paranid race and rewarded with old emperor's flagship (M1 captured by Terrans), his personal Yaht (Hyperion Vanguard), also the M1 is fully loaded with experimental ships like:Medusa Prototype,Advanced Perseus and Enhanced Pericles.

You are also odered the last task for this plot. You are send to Heretics End to pick up the Old Emperor from Terran prison. you fly to Heretics End, where you meet the ATF commander you met before. He's in his Wooden with small escort. He's happy to see you and say that he's the one who will turn the Old Emperor to you.
He clarify that they couldn't give the emperor one they capture, because they need more info on those bomb weapons tech, so they had to bluff that the Terran will grant him a refuge in their space so the commonwealth will never get him. He agree to cooperate when they took him to Earth Torus, where he believed that whey are saying truth. When he said all he know he wasn't useful anymore so they decided to turn him to Commonwealth.
Old Emperror is on board ATF Vali M6, which is a reward for you from Terran goverment. ATF commander said that he opted for giving him Aegir M7 but this would be against Terran security policy so they agree to transfer you 100 mln Cr additional reward.

With Old Emperor in cargo bay, you are ordered to pick up the Commonweath Prosecutors for the Grand Tribunal:
- From Kindom's End - peaceful pickup
- Argon Prime - Prosecutor TP ship will explode (pirates paid by Paranid Pro-old imperial udredground) when you close by, you will have to fly to Three Worlds for auxilary Prosecutor - peaceful pickup.
- Seizewell - prosecutor is attacked by Pirates, you need to repel them.
- Family Pride - you're notify that frosecutor has been abducted by Pirates and is held in Spaceweeds groove. you fly there and there is a Pirate station with some Pirate and Paranid underground ships (some fighters, some M6 and one M7). When you close by the Pirate and Paranid ship will attack you, while the Paranid M7 that held the prosecutor will try run away. If you don't capture it, this M7 will roam the circle around Pirate sectors (Space weed Grove->Desecrated Skies->Gunnes Crusade-> Ianamus Zura-> Space wee grove). Once this runner enter new sector, the random Pirate and Paranid ships (from M5 to even M1) will joint to replenish it's escort. Once you capture it you will save the prosecutor.
- Paranid Prime- When you pickup Paranid Prosecutor you will be attacked by a underground Paranid fleet (M1, 2xM7, some M6 and fighters), some Paranid loyalist ships will come to aid you ( 2xM7, some fighters and bombers against that M1). you have to defeat the underground forces.

Once you pick up all prosecutors, you will have to carry them (and the old Emperor prisoner) to greate Tribunal in Omicron Lyrae. Once they are delivered to the station the plot is over.

This could be interesting, I'd give a go if/when it's done (along with a lot of other scripts/mods). :)


But you missed one race, the Goners, what is their stance in this matter?

Goners are Hippies, they would stay far away from it (support commonwealth, you support incoming war, support Paranids, you support mass murderers).

It is hard to live since the xenon and kha'ak patrol recentrly

not a script or mod... it's an idea someone threw out, it is basically something the modding community COULD do if they wanted to do it. I hope this simple explanation meets your expectations

I think that the only way to have it done is to find someone with devnet access to present it to the Egosoft team so maybe, MAYBE if they like it they could put it into next patch.

2.7 is already in the works... and we don't know if it'll be released within the next few weeks or months it's hard to tell. Would they want to add this while mid way through a patch or something of that sort? maybe in the next patch after 2.7, like maybe patch 2.8. Best thing we can do though is give them ideas
