How to deploy a satellite?

Post by Zalioth » Tue, 1. Jun 10, 20:14

Sorry for the stupid, newbie proper only, question...
I've searched for a long while but I can't find the answer.

So far the only logical thing to do would be ejecting it... i haven't found any other option in the game. Im placing the satellite to sign a special acumulation of nvidium for my ships to automatically collect.

So, how do I deploy a satellite so it becomes operative?
Sorry again, and thanks for any answers! ^^

Ejecting.

You are right. Get to your freight bay, select the item, and eject it. You will get the choice of ejecting all of the item or the number you want. Of course, select 1 and press return.
Bill in S.F., enjoying the game

Ah thank you both :).
Well at least my logical brain was working fine, even though I was assuming ejecting meant dispose  .

Thanks again!

If you eject anything, it doesn't so much as 'dispose', as in it's gone forever, but dumps into space, usually in a box.
But things like satellites and drones deploy and start working when you eject them.

Hijacking threads means others can learn. I shall employ this.

If I have enough space free and can hold it, if I run over a satelite, do I pick it up into my freight, or do I crash and possible destroy it/myself?
Go into the sand, and the dust, and the sky
Go now, there's no better plan, than to do or to die
Free me, pray to the fayth in the face of the light
Feed me, fill me with sin, and get ready to fight

If it's your satellite and you have room, yes, you pick it up. (Assuming you are playing X3:TC).
If you try this on someone else's satellite you'll just destroy it.

If you *don't* have room it will cause a collision.
Learn to use stickies. Look here for mods for X3TC and here for guides across everything since X2. If you haven't read the Forum Rules do so before we beat you with sticks. Above all have fun.

This applies to X3R too.

You have to open your cargo bay manually in X3R, which is why I made the distinction.
