A litte Help with X-BTF.

Hi there. If i posted it in the wrong place move the topic, but i really need a little help.
The problem is simple, i wanted to play X-BTF on my laptop.
To scroll the massages you need the Page Up and Down Keys, but on my laptop there integrated in the numeric keys, and they don't work in the game. The numeric keys work, and i can rotate the view.
I don't have, and cannot buy a keyboard with separate PgUP, PgDn keys.
Is there a way to do something about that ??
Pleas help.

Most laptops have some keys that double up. Look for the function key (labelled 'Fn' on my Dell) and see if there is a key that is labelled, usually in a different colour, as 'Page Up' etc.

I tried the Fn key and using numlock in many combination, and it doesn't work.
The Pg keys work in windows but they don't work in the game.

Try going into the in game options through escape, and although i cant remember its name off hand there is a tab in there for setting controls to what you want, so you can set them t keys you do have on the laptop.

I tried that. First of all, you open the options by pressing the F8 Key.
There is Key\Button mapping - Picture of:

And non of those options is related to scrolling the messages. I tried.
Any other ideas ?? Is there a file, .ini r something where all the keys are mapped ?? No on plays this game ??

Changing key options in X-BTF is very, very limited, and won't do what you need. If you can't get the 'fn' option to work, I'd guess you're out of luck. An external keyboard is the only other option, I'm afraid.

I'm sure. They're hardcoded. Back when X-BTF first came out, I looked in vain for such a feature. It did not exist.

I use that app to switch my Page Up & End and Page Down & Home keys on the laptop... Very good app.

Well, since it writes the new keymap to the registry I don't see why it shouldn't. However, first hand experience would not hurt - there might be more people who want to play it on laptops

Yes!!! I can confirm that it work. That's a bit strange, because i tried another key mapper and it didn't help. But this one does.
So now i can play
