RE'ing the Poisoned Paranid Rewards

Post by jonnyincognito » Sat, 3. Jul 10, 22:55

Hey all,

I just completed the PP mission, and received a hopped up Hyperion. My question is this, when (and if!) I make it to the point that I have a PHQ like I did in my Argon start, when I reverse engineer this baby does it keep it's boosted speed or will the blueprints only build standard issue Hyperions?

All and any overtuned ship will go back to its stock stats when REd, so yep, just the basic Hyperion Vanguard will come out.
SCUM : They may exceed you in number, but not in value.

Cap another one to RE

It puts up a really good fight. So many turrets. No wonder it's often used.

My method:
Lower the shields.
Use IonD to strip everything.
Swap to another ship if I get low on shields.
After it has no more weapons and scary equipment repair the hull a bit (depending on your marines).
Board!

Some day  Still have awhile before I get to that point on the new start! Man marines take a long time to train!

does ionD destroy target weapon too ? or no ? because it is very usefull since it only dmg the shield of a ship
It is hard to live since the xenon and kha'ak patrol recentrly

Chance of weapons destruction yes. Had to fry my target to 20% hull.

The marines used were not the best so it took a while to repair the target before sending them in.

If you have the ability to reverse engineer ships, you have most certainly got the ability to buy a m7m and just fire a boarding pod. Frying off the equipment isn't that helpful unless you just want to ensure you have absolutely no casualties.
Duke's Buccaneers... I hate you so much... I am sooo demolishing your HQ when our business is finished....
