Repairing race relation. I need some advice.

Post by chelo_boga » Mon, 16. Aug 10, 19:57

Do to some pirate activity from my part the Splirt consider me an enemy and has banned me from their core sectors. Now I need to buy a couple of factories from them, so I must kiss and make up (Not a happy thought to kiss a split, but it could be worse. Imagine if I have to kiss a boron!!)

Im allowed to enter their border sectors, but they wont let me dock at their stations or offer me missions to perform, so i cant "trade" my way into their good graces.

Now, which is the fastest way to repair my relation with them, beside shooting every pirate, yaki, xenon or khaak that I can found roaming split sectors? (Shooting down boron is not an option. All my complexes are in Argon and Boron space)

It would help to know what game you're playing.

if you can get into border sectors, you can (c)omm the stations for missions. you dont have to land at the stations to get the missions. you have to be within 25Km to comm a station.

Find Defend Station missions. Even if your contractor isn't Split the kills in Split territory increase your rep. I'm not sure if a Mission given by a Boron in Split sectors does any good for your rep.
You can also try Defend Shipyard missions close to Xenon sectors. But beware of patrols - those might lead into a core sector...

AFAIK, defend station missions are only given by the race that owns the station, and hence the sector (assuming it's a race-owned sector, not a pirate one). In Split space, you only get defend station missions from the Split.

With one or two rare exceptions, shipyards are all in core sectors anyway. And defending them is no different than any other station defense mission. It sounds like you're referring to the various Xenon Invasion-type missions, not station defense.

And no, completing a mission for a Boron in Split space won't give you any Split rep beyond that accrued by killing Split enemies there. But that can still be a decent boost. So finding some assassination missions by other races that occur in Split space can substantially help with Split rep, especially if you can kill all the escorts before doing the mark.

True as long you have not been doing Build Station missions before. Those stations can have owner with a different race.

There are always Xenon patrols cruising through the northeastern Split sectors.
If you plaster those with satellites, that's a pretty easy way.

I've already killed every xenon or pirate in split territory, and as I stated before the Split are so angry with me that they dont offer any mission in their sectors, no matter who is the owner of the stationm so defend station, patrol, or XI are off the book.

anyway, I laready repeair my rep. Catra's advice worked. I found a couple of Split in teladi stations and did missions fro them. Now im back in their good graces and already bought the stations I need to supply my HQ.

thanks all for your advice

PS. Forcy: I know how to comm stations and get missions. Im not THAT noob.
