Hello Hive Mind!
I am here again to ask advise about my Dragon. As I said before, I am very new to the game and cant judge a lot of things.
I am using only the "oficial" script pack and dont want to put any others (using mosquito missile defense from the package). And two important point I want a load out that I can leave the computer to manage the ship and DONT want to bother with ammo. If there is some way to ask the ship to auto resuply AND do others duty (as patrol), I would uses ammo weapons. But I have theproblem of the missiles anyway... Dont know how to tell theship to resuply and continue if thier duty...
My actual load out is:

DRAGON:
SHIELD: 200MJ x2.
HANGAR: -.
MAX LASER ENERGY: 15700MJ.
LASER ENERGY RELOAD RATE: 392MW.
MAIN (8): High Energy Plasma Thrower x8 (2310 / 188/s).
TURRET UP (1): Particle Accelerator Cannon x1 (1926 / 120/s) – Missile Defense.
MISSILES: Mosquito M x20; ?.

What do you thing about it?

If you were playing X3:R I would have said Alpha PPC all round Surprised

I'm not a fan of the dragon I'm afraid but it can hold Pulsed Beam Emitters (PBE) and that means it can cap fighters like crazy.

It will be an computer ship if that matter. The PBE has a very short range and is kind energy eatter... Dont it will crash my energy supply? Isnt the range to short for missile defense or even fighter defense?

If you're going to use it for patrols or protecting stations etc then it may be better to stick on a few CIGs as you'll be OOS most of the time I'd imagine and weapon damage is the most important factor then.

Although you'll need a fair few escorts to deal with groups of fighters. It is possible in OOS combat for a group of 5 or 6 fighters to take out an M7 if it is unaided. They'll lose maybe 4 or 5 of their number but who really lost more in the end?

if i was to fly a dragon i would load it out the same way i load out my Hyp.

2x CIGs and 6x EBC

turret i would say 1x Pac.

maybe switch 2 of the EBC for Ion Shard Railguns when you need to take something down fast. But with the CIG/EBC combo, you can keep firing until the paranid come home and still be fine.

until you run out of ammo, but with 200 units of ammo you should be able to waste a whole sector.

Also have you seen what happens to little ships hit by CIGs? they bounce around and cannot fire back.
