trainning barracks in home of light??

Post by subzero22 » Wed, 20. Oct 10, 13:45

On http://eng.x3tc.ru/x3_tc_map/factory-li ... s=barracks

It says there's a training barracks yet when I go there I can't find one at all. Is there any place close that might have one so I can buy/train some marines?

I'm guessing it got destroyed somehow or it's out of my adv. satellite range.

I'm guessing destroyed maybe. It should be like right in the middle of the sector if I remember. Does GoD remove training barracks stations?

Middle of the sector is Terracorp HQ.

Edit: will it be replaced?

I think training barracks do respawn, yeah. But there's plenty of places around to train marines :)

One, within a couple of sectors of HoL...

Elena's Fortune is almost next door to HoL. But if you want to play it safe you can send the troops to Argon Prime to be trained due to EF being in close proximity to Pirate controlled space.

If you need additonal information on buying/training of troops this little thread could help.

The training barracks looks like a small station next to an Argon capital ship, which believe it or not, is part of the station (much to my surprise at first).

And if you look careful, from time to time a barding pod launches from the station to the ship. The marines training for ship boarding...

Any military base will sell and train marines (except at Boron bases). There's one only 2 sectors from Home of Light, and others scattered throughout the map. Normally, there's a Training Barracks just west of Terracorp HQ.

As I recall, the Training Barracks will only sell them, not train them, but it generally has a much larger selection.

Do the marines in the training barracks gain levels if you leave them and feed the station with resources?

No.

So really the only way to try and get fresh marines with a decent fighting skill is to buy the crappy ones and sell them off at my local shipyard along with the TP? I only ask because this is what I've been doing up until now but I wondered if there was perhaps a less expensive method.

You could always enslave them at Pirate Bases and then sell them to the Pirates. :D

Of course you will be taking a loss (credit wise) but if you're buying hundreds of troops at one time you probably have some sort of income to keep your credit account well stocked.

Yes I have a sufficient infrastructure to maintain my current method but being Scottish I wanted to find if there was a cheaper way...
