X3:R I just bought a Titan, what's your favorite weapon for an M2?

Post by devilham » Fri, 5. Nov 10, 17:14

Just got me a titan, and loaded her up with some weapons, and really struggled against a khaak carrier in Scale Plate Green (that ****** has been killing all my traders), now there are two more khaak capital ships in the sector and I am concerned about taking them down......what's your favorite M2 loadout for capital ship to ship combat?

I did look at the sticky for guides on this, and tried the guys balanced loadout (the only one in the guide he posted) and found it to be underwhelming.....I want to crush them.

So I guess it would be more along the lines of what is the most powerful weapon I can have loaded on an Argon Titan?

Several hundred Typhoons.
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

on x3tc im using 8 photons on left and right and cigs in the front flak/hept on the top and bottom hept/cig in the back seems to be working pretty well for me so far.
X3 terran conflict is the best game in the world next to supreme commander 1 ;)

Depends on what game you're playing. If it's X3Reunion, then you'll want Gamma PPC's whereever they'll fit.

If it's X3TC, you'll want PPC's and GC's, as well as heavy flak.

hmmmmmmm doesn't seem to be many GPPC's in my universe, is there a race that specializes in them? Or a place where I can buy the factory I wonder?

you know what, download MARS, and don't look if your game is modified or not ;)

I agree with willy, The only problem I have with MARS is that it will happily install PPC's to swat at fighters, even when they're in range of anti-fighter weapons. Not good when your carrier is being escorted by two destroyers.

seems GPPC's are very rare in my verse, so I started a factory, and it's starting to pump them out, but I have no idea how to remove the finished product from my factory, as I have no option to trade or remove goods from my own factory? I must be missing something, yes?

Try killing some Xenon capital ships, if you get a high enough fight rank, combat missions also spawn hostile M2s. Ships armed with PPCs will sometimes drop them upon destruction. Very profitable and a good way to get your own ship armed.

Buy a TS and send it to the station. Go into your property screen. Find the TS and highlight it and press enter and use "Adjust Station Parameters". To transfer the GPPC to the TS highlight the ware and press the right arrow key once and then enter and it will transfer the GPPC to your TS.
Instructions are for Reunion and am sure if its different in TC someone will correct me :D

A proper Kha'ak invasion is always a carrier and two destroyers. But with a well armed Titan (and with a careful tactics) it shouldn't be a problem. Just hunt them down one by one and use the jumpdrive to retreat to the gate if needed.

then the invasion is proper, I have taken out the carrier, so that's good, but the destroyers are sticking together, making it hard to seperate them and fight them one at a time....it's all good though, I have 300 million credits in the bank and another 50 mill or so I can get my hands on, so another Titan is no big deal (and was always in the plan anyways)

Good work then, but be careful: a Titan in AI hands is not the same as a Titan as personal ship. A good load of Typhoons might be more effective.
But it's your game, don't let us to take over
