You can't. Sorry. It was a bit of dramatic licence in the manual and in-game descriptions.

They fetch a good price though. and if you manage to actualy use them they make a big bang.

I think it's more that it will lock onto the nearest enemy without you having to target it.

No they dont. It might look like they are but that's just because when you turn your perspective relative to the missile changes slightly.

Intrestingly enough in it's file entry it DOES have the manually guided tag ticked. But it's quite possibble that it dosen;t work or isn't enabled.
