What does the AEGIS weapon system extension do?

Post by Requiemfang » Wed, 19. Jan 11, 04:11

I mean I wonder really the in game description states it adds commands but... what commands exactly? I've been wondering this for a while. SO what exactly does this 40 + million credit extension do really?

It's most likely a mod as I've never heard of it. Go ask in the S&M Forum.

If you're speaking in regards to X2, it's a wonderful bonus pack script that controls the turrets on your capital ships*. Any other version of X, and it never made it into their respective bonus packs. Anyways, for X3:TC, you'll probably want to use MARS anyways.

*Technically, it controls the turret on any ship, but with such a steep cost and crew requirement, you'll probably end up using it on just your capitals.

So basically... there is no real purpose and it's just a left over from previous games?

It works. Someone updated it for TC.
If it's not in the english S&M forum then it's in the german one.
My complete script download page. . . . . . I AM THE LAW!
There is no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

No it depends on which game. If the OP is playing X2, then it is part of the bonus pack which is considered vanilla and belongs here. Any other game and yes it belongs in S&M.

Considering that the OP is talking about the 'in game description' then I believe they are playing X2.

If the OP would like to confirm which game, then?
Because if it is X2,then it is not a leftover from previous games but as pointed out, part of X2.

In fact it is a part of X2 which I have missed since Reunion.

The idea of gunnery crews getting more effective with experience was a good idea.
Not sure why it was dropped.

Sorry... neglected to post here... RL stuff :P

Game is X3TC

there are a bunch of other softwares/equipment that don't seem to have any real purpose, BPH upgrade kit mk 1 and camouflage device. There was the Motion Analysis Relay System in vanilla as well... but lol we all know who turned that into one of the better brilliant turret scripts :p

In actual play, these things do not exist.
So I guess you are just reading some file which is is full of stuff from previous games or put ther for later patches.
TC was based on one or two mods,so maybe some mod files made it to the TC files, but not implemented.

At least , that is how I understand it.
There are ships in the files that are not in-game too.afaik

vr01's comment has two links in it. Here is third. Furthermore, the X2 Bonuspack is supposed to contain a "Readme", in a subfolder of the game's main folder. Read those first.
