There are plenty of forums talking about the best M7. But which one is the best M2?

For me that would be the Xenon K. It has a really flat profile, making it hard to hit while strafing up/down. At the same time it has no issues bring to bear it's front & side (left and right) PPC guns to bear on any target. Makes for some fast kills. Can also use SSC guns as flak cannons, so can take out heavier targets chasing it as well (M6) while I can focus on the capital ships.

The others are good as well, but somehow the K fits my combatstyle the most.

I prefer the Boreas. The weapons are easy to get, and it is tiny compared to other m2s. That combined with ppc or ibl on every turret makes it the superior choice for oos and is.

Boreas.

I did consider the Tyr, but it's a bit hard to get hold of and I prefer PPCs
to PSPs.

A number of folk have issues with its cargo hold. Personally I don't
think it's that small, but PSPs take up twice the space of PPCs.

If you were allowed to cap one I would comsider a Khaak Destroyer.

Insta hit weapons and it just looks so mean. Enemies would turn and
run before you fired a shoot

Judging by numbers the damn ant-queen-pocket-destroyer is the best.

Given those 3 options and that I prefer the Gauss Cannon over any other anticapital weapon I vote the Boreas. It is also, as already been pointed, the smallest M2 making it harder to hit.

That Akuma is one of the weakest M2s and it takes 4 GC less.
Tyr must be captured and you have no alternatives on it's armament.

I have real difficulty in passing one up if I see it in space.

(Mind you I play modded so it's a much better ship in SRM)

Vanilla I'd probably say the Tyr just for looks (and it's insane awesomeness)

No such thing. I am currently flying a M2 Ray and i think it's the best!

If you had asked this question a few months ago then it would have been Boreas.

Before that The Osaka.

Before that... and on and on it goes. Buy them all, try them all and find out those nice small differences between them. Dont forget to wreck a lot of xenon while doing field testing! Ta-Taa!

I like the Boreas, yes it is ugly but the weapons are easy to get and I can take on 4-6 Q's and a J and K at the same time. I like the size and I can dodge incoming fire most of the time.

It helps to have 10 gig of shielding too!

I gotta say Ray. Maybe not the best statistically but being in one of those gives you a huge sense of badass, without the feeling of being restricted to a massive, immobile hunk of armour. Odysseus gets an honourable mention because you can put PSG all around it and obliterate anything small that even thinks about coming close.

Also am I the only one who thinks Boreas is a nice-looking ship?!

I don't know my favourite. I've only tried a Boreas and Akuma so far. I have to say I prefer the Akuma when I'm piloting it myself, the Boreas is a bit... well... irritating with its camera. But OOS and on autopilot I prefer the Boreas. I like the Akuma though for its row of turrets on the top that can spam IBL's at enemies. Does anyone know why the Akuma is so absurdly expensive? It is actually more expensive than the Boreas.

Boreas has done very well, I completed all the FF with it, have them as sector partols. I like that it can handle its own OOS.

Tyr, Wow got one, Bumper, I needed a second try or M1 to back it up in OOS partols.

When a Q oe two attack a boreas OOS its shileds go down half way.
the Tyr has died 3 times or had half it hull still in tact.

I had to put all PSP now it kind of can hold its own OOS.

Titan has gotton me through FF by the skin of my teeth once, but the Boreas just felt safer.

The other ships I have not tried, but should all have its pros and cons.
