M7 Griffon
I got this ship after finishing FF. What shall I do with this? Is it worth keeping it?

It's an M7 with Hangars! Of course you should keep it, even if you don't find it very useful.i64man wrote:I got this ship after finishing FF. What shall I do with this? Is it worth keeping it?

An M7 that flaks like a champ. I don't personally use it because I prefer my PSG equipped Deimos for the anti-fighter duty with his 6 x 1GJ shields.
Edit: fixed shield strength.

I'm a big fan of the Griffon, it's second only to my Shrike in terms of personal smackdown, even though it can't mount the big anti capital weapons of the Shrike. The weapons it can mount can fire all but constantly and as a player ship it can take on a pair of Qs or even a K and win with little or no real risk. Plus it handles almost like a fighter

It also carries a decent size wing of fighters if you need more firepower.Kirlack wrote:I'm a big fan of the Griffon, it's second only to my Shrike in terms of personal smackdown, even though it can't mount the big anti capital weapons of the Shrike. The Griffon is the size of an M6. This makes dodging anti capital weaponry a breeze. Throw in it's hangar bays and it's M7 level shielding and weaponry, and this ship becomes a real beast.
The downside is that, while it's the size of an M6, it's much slower. Also can't dock with stations.
Overall it's a nifty little ship, complete with it's own drawbacks and advantages. It's not going to wipe fleets out alone, it's not going to carry hordes of fighters and it's definitely not winning any races, but it makes an excellent mini carrier that can hold it's own in larger slugfests, and totally decimates fighters.

Sorry, but the information given on that site is wrong in nearly every area when it comes to the Griffon. Seems to be severely outdated. Either that or my version of the X models viewer is. (currently don't have the ship in game so can't check). I'm pretty much certain those figures for the Griffon are way off though

X3TC.ru was last updated with the 2.0 patch. It's okay now, but not nearly as good as it used to be.
