Goner plot, capturing truelight seeker
Have they changed it in V3.1 ?
Before you could shoot up the pirates, then shoot up the truelight seeker until it went red, and once it came to a halt you could simply claim it.
Well not in my current game. As I went to claim it, I got a volley of 6 gauss cannons which knocked 80% of my shields before I realised what was going on. I’ve been shooting the hell out of it for 10 minutes and it’s still coming for me, its got 1x gauss ammo left and a few wildfires.
If I have to capture it, is there any special requirements on the marines?

Hmm, in my last game, I shot up the TLS and claimed it when it was red.
Another odd thing was I didn’t get the protect transport missions, there’s usually 4 of these one after the other before you get asked to capture the TLS. All I got was protect the TLS, then the missions suddenly jumped to capture it.
Anyway can’t reload, on steam DiD. So looks like 5 elite marines will be needed (?)

It is best to buy some rookie marines for that job and not use your trained guys. Just keep firing more crappy marines at it if they are dying and you can keep your turrets firing till the cows come home if you like as the TLS is quite invincible.

Went off to buy a boatload of rookie marines, and when I got back, found the TLS in Grand Exchange parked up by the Trading Station. It was not moving, and it was still red. I circled around it, no reaction. I then got up really close with SOS and the claim button lit up. So I claimed it. Sorted.
All very odd

I've seen a few posts from people saying they were still able to claim it even tho they'd shot it, but I've seen more saying they weren't. And I've never seen one saying they couldn't unless they'd shot it...
My point? If in doubt, don't shoot it!

capping trulight seeker
I posted on this last week when i couldnt cap the ship no matter how many marines i threw at it i gave up in the end after 24 hoursreal time following without trying to cap it ie it was still blue and it never stopped i think this plot is a bit bugged

because if you launched 2 waves of marines at right time you could get invincible TLS
that got fixed in 2.6 i think both the TLS and #deca are now taking normal damage in
anyways if you have 3.1 then save those marines for #deca (for collection)
#deca is so slow its very ineffective anyways
