[X-BTF] Paranid reputation

I've been trying to figure out what to do to get them to like me.

Ive put a Teladianium Foundy in Emperors Mines and was hoping that might help, but it doesn't look like it so far.
Was thinking of getting some Oil factory going in Paranid Prime, but wonder if that's even going to work.

Is there some kind of story link to this race?
I've only spoken to the guy at the Goner temple so far.

Anyone who can give me a hint? Really want to get that docking computer

Fly around for some time - every now and then you'll see a pirate fly by. If you kill some pirates, you'll soon be able to dock.

I've only played X3TC, but I would imagine you can get them at racial equipment docks as well. (You can in TC, at least, and also at trading stations.)

Unfortunately tunings are only available at pirate bases in BTF.

Comparing games, only a fraction of whats available in later games is in BTF.
Even XT has a lot more than BTF.

When I got the Superbox i decided I would play them one after the other doing the story and learning bit by bit.

No, it won't. Even in the later games the pirates will still let you dock when you're at rock-bottom rep with them, because they just care about your money. I'm not even sure if you *have* a global pirate rep in X-BTF or if they're just a bunch of independent ships flying around the universe--either way, you will never lose the ability to dock at a pirate base unless you actually shoot at the base itself.

Keep your eyes peeled though (all three of them, as the Paranid would say!) as pirates can be difficult to spot in BtF. If you've got the guns and shields, killing Xenon will also help. In later games, killing Argon in Paranid sectors would raise Paranid rep. (as well as lowering Argon rep.). I can't remember if the same applies to BtF as well or not.

Thanks guys. Got friendly after a few kills...guessing 20 or so pirate/xenon kills. So it was pretty easy...

This docking computer is pretty much the best device after SETA imo
Just hit D as soon as the station is targeted. Amazing...

What? Only Xenon can be spotted easier! Watch the colour of traders engines: If it is purple you're dealing with a pirate! Simple as that.
And yes, Docking Computer rocks!
