doubleshadow strikes back

Post by doubleshadow » Wed, 16. Mar 11, 13:59

This is changelist for all of my tools released on 16.3.2011

DBOX, X2BC, Bod Compiler (X3E2 plugin)

DBOX, X2BC.

Added support for collision box infomation.

What's that? You don't really need to know - it's automatic ;)

Litcube and Observe decrypted The Ten Unknown Values in this thread. I've implemented this knowledge into DBOX and made X2BC able to read/write the data.

You must upgrade both DBOX and X2BC if you want to take advantage of this!

How to use it:
* get the latest DBOX and X2BC
* re-export your model with DBOX. It will automatically compute the collision box info.
* compile with X2BC into BOB
That's it. The in-game AI should now properly avoid your ship(s).

X3 Editor 2

X3 Editor

Added find dialog into Cat Manager (Ctrl + F)

Fixed the Bod Compiler - You probably know that the Bod Compiler is available for a year now, but it never worked if you were compiling/decompiling more than 1 file. I took another look at it, and was able to find the cause.

The Bod Compiler is now fully working and you can now simultaneously compile/decompile one file per CPU core.

Thanks for coming back for this, doubleshadow. It was good working with you. You too Observe (I appreciate your science)!

Cheers.

Likewise thanks Doubleshadow and Litcube. This has been an example of what we can accomplish when we work together as a modding community. :)

Couldn't have done it without you either, Killjaeden. Your research was an integral part of this.

Yep, it was Killjaeden who raised the red flag on this.

Thank you Doubleshadow for all the tools you have provided.

Even for a small time modder and mainly script adjuster I find them all invaluable.

Going to be interesting around here now for a while whilst all take advantage of the new additions and fixes :D

Cheers!

Indeed! This will mean all mods using custom models will need to release updates. Definitely a big job for the "major" mods for sure!

Nice :)

I do like the X3 Editor 2, and have found it really useful when developing my scripts and mods. I would like to point out that my Changeling tool is not intended to compete with X3 Editor but rather supplement it.

I didnt expect my tutorial to become out-of-date so fast, good work of everyone involved in it.
Without Jeffs help (not so active here) i couldnt have done it either.
And also not without doubleshadows toolz, so we are back to the root *g*

certainly, as long as you are not one of those having to do it :P

As it's you I'll allow the use of trademarked Imperial terms in your thread title and forgo the standard summary public execution.
