I like Akeela's beacon for the ultra plentiul cheap e-cells, but i hate the long crawl to the SPPs on the far side of the sector. I was going to build a ranch/bakery complex, and was wondering if I'd be better off putting it in Aladna Hill close to the jumpgate rather than in AB itself. If I home base a freighter at the complex, and put it on buy e-cells best price, and set the jump distance to 1. I'm thinking it will jump back to AH from the SPPs on the far side of Akeela's beacon, and save me 1/2 the trip. Am I right? Will the AI handle it this way?

Yep, the ship will jumpback. you can also set it to 0 and the ship will do in sector jumps, so you can place the complex close to the gates in AH and achieve the same effect.
