Station Prices

Post by Hardscript » Sat, 18. Jun 11, 13:06

I am having alot of trouble getting the prices on my stations correct, is there a script somewhere that is able to tell you what the npc's consider a good deal?

and what the jump number mean on this window next to the prices.

For scripts you have to ask in the scripts and modding forum. Though, the jump number displayed in your screenshot is an indication of a good price, see below.
NPC-traders won't buy every ware. There are some wares, where you can simply lower the price one unit under the average price (for example space fuel) and the NPC-traders will buy your products continuously. Other wares will even with a minimum price rather go mouldy before a NPC-trader starts to buy them. But as long as there are enough stations buying your products, it's more profitable to sell them with own freighters. Same is true for NPC-traders selling you resources. In most cases you won't be able to "motivate" the NPCs to fully supply your factories with needed resources.

The jump number stands for the distance (in jumps) your freighters have to fly to find a station to sell the ware for the set (or a higher) price / to buy the ware for the set (or a lower) price.

Put the price at average -1 so it'll be 2,011 or such. do the same for the other ware.
