which ship to use for Omicron Lyrae mission

Post by wolfmaster1979 » Mon, 1. Mar 04, 08:56

I have 2 ships that I want to use for that mission, the Centaur or the titan. Which is better to use??

The Titan will be next to useless, and the Centaur exceedingly difficult. Reason is, the mission requires some close flying into tight spaces, and those ships are physically very big.

I recommend you take an M3.

no, he means omicron lyrae. they are both big missions.

i did it in my paranid nemesis and the manuvering required is pretty damn tricky. but it can be done, and the additional firepower makes the rest of the mission a whole lot easier.

if your going to use an m6 make sure you have a few dozen insurance as its all to easy to get caught in one of the manuvers and hear the all too familiar boos.... jump dr.... carg...best bu....horne...gamm..... 125 mw sh.... ecliptic projector destroyed.

curious thing is, after that mission finished a whole load of xenon m2's decided to gate in from the east. trying to reinforce the other xenon sector next to 18 billion no doubt but the timing rocked
Hmmm, you seem to have mistaken me for something edible.

I managed to do it with my Split Dragon, but you have to be skilled in agility, if you're not stick with a smaller ship, or even if you have an M6, stick an M5 on it and swap when its time to do the close call bits. I think the easiest option is to use the Nova.

M6/M5 worked for me a treat. You can assign the M6 to protect you while you fly in close, if you like.

I brought a Dragon and a Nova. I did all the heavy fighting from the Dragon, and teleported to the Nova for the close in sequences.

If you leave the Dragon idling and with its stern looking towards the Khaak Mothership you are going to have some heavy fire support taking down those pesky little Khaaks that try to come after you during the mission. That rocks.

Can do the whole story missions in an M3 if you feel like it, but if you have heavier ships to assist with fighting, that's a plus, of course. But it's not necessary.
