[TC] Boarding an Ares M7M

Hay need a little help I have been trying to board an ares in a pirate sector, I wiped out its escorts and have my wing of M3's on shield suppression.Then my TP ejects marines 10/10 connect and successfully cut through and board.I then save as they go through each deck, finally they all start hacking the core with no casualties. Then they just dissapear from personel sreen no messages or anything and the ares turns blue?

I only have a few mods/scripts running so I dont think they are affecting it exspecially since they all are performance one's except from MAR's

Any help would be appreciated as I have a save before they boarded but it took many tries to get them to connect together.So I would rather not go through all that again exspecially since it has 254 flail's :( Then there is no gaurentee the same thing wont happen again.

ooh, thats a lot of flails you used! What sort-of skill levels are the marines? and have you checked to see if there are any special equipment is installed on the ship (by scanning it)? ie. Internal lasers, etc.

I'm sorry but I don't see any other explanation. Never I heard of this problem and I done, see and heard about thousands of boarding.

Once there was guy boarding tyr who was filled with weapons after capping, and his marines were, although listed, physically not present in ship because there was too little of cargo hold left. I don't think such a problem is possible with M7M though.

Hmmm...Have heard of this happening before, although it's usually after a sucessful boarding and doesn't get turned over to player control. It may be a rare glitch, have you got a save prior to the boarding that you can try again to see if it happens again?

I rechecked the save where I didnt get control of the ship but was a succesfull op because the ship name now is changed just to ares and after scanning it my marines are onboard. I also checked my statistics and apparently I still own 10 marines even though they arent in my personnel tab. I reloaded an earlier save and I had a successful board although the ship did turn blue for a fration of a second then came to my control.

Figuring I had nothing else to blame other than the mods I have installed I did a fresh install and deleted my saves. X is just so big and because I dont know enough about it I figured it was safer starting clean because next time I might not notice I have a problem in game where as a more experienced player may.

Just for refrence the mods scripts I had installed where as follows:

Memia auto scan sector
Remove rocks from sector
No station wrecks
SSwamp_Troopers performance upgrade
Cheat scan all asteriods
X3TC Vanilla malt starts
MAR's
Remove fog
No ad signs
and obv X-plugin manager and its associated scripts.

I happened to run into this same bug today while I was recording stuff as a part of my little spacewalk boarding how-to project.

I've done a fair number of boardings, both spacewalk and with pods, and this is the first time I've seen this glitch -- I'd never even heard of it outside this thread.

Running no scripts or mods. It's a recent install on a brand new computer, so I know there's nothing I patched in and forgot about.

Anyhow, here's the video for anyone who might be curious:

- The bugged hack itself is at ~10:55.

- No, the video doesn't pause for 10-15 seconds at ~11:00 -- that's just me staring dumbly at the computer screen waiting for control to switch over.

- After a while, the now owner-less ship started cruising around the sector in the same way it'd done before I boarded it.

- I went ahead and re-boarded it with a more senior crew. My marines who'd remained onboard fought to defend the ship against the 2nd boarding crew.

- I probably should have thought to check ship info, but it didn't occur to me at the time.

- Check out the spooky similarity between the station in the lower right corner of the screen and the marine in the upper right monitor at ~16:40! Creepy!!

This was very unusual.

Those little pirates!

They must've figured out I accept 50-80% casualty rates as normal on my small ship crews and figured they had better odds going it alone. A beat up little Dragon with 5 ISR's certainly would've looked tempting to me under those circumstances. :P

Thats a shame, Im glad though it means it wasnt something I done, I ended up just starting a new game all my marines where almost 5* except from fighting. I spent alot of funds training them and decking out a zephy with 4 M3's for shield suppression. I realy badly wanted that Ares I will get one again. When I start another game I'm not playing just now as im between a computer upgrade.
