Paranid Rampage in Argon Prime
So there i was, minding my own business, waiting for my factory to make money, and i turn the ship around and see a Paranid Odysseus and two Deimos in Argon Prime. I thought that was a bit strange, and then the paranid destroyed a colossus, and a free argon trading station, and i got caught in the crossfire.
Is this normal? Will the Paranid destroy the sector, and do i need to buy an M2 to combat them?

well i dont know about normal but i think ti happens form time to time.
and nope you need a M8 or a vidar, cheapest M8 i can think of is the split one? or the gladiator load it up with 100 or so T hawks and use the barrage command at the lead ship, NOTHING will survive since IIRC they have re targeting, or if thats to expensive their is always a wheat farm

Death is not a hunter unbeknownst to its prey, one is always aware that it lies in wait. Though life merely a journey to the grave, it must not be undertaken without hope. Only then will a traveler's story live on, treasured by who bid him farewell. But alas, my guest's life has ended, his tale left unwritten

Haha, i decided to save and let it play out, 3 titans came along and smashed the paranid.
I was worrying about my complex and freighters, and i never thought anything bad could happen in Argon Prime.

I have played since X2. Played TC since first revision.StarSword wrote:I always seem to hear about these major battles between Commonwealth governments, but I never seem to be anywhere nearby to see them for myself. Closest I ever get is Split fighters busting the odd Dolphin.
Only seen it twice. Both times in TC.

Well It happens quite often in my game. I've seen 3+ paranid expeditions on home of light, which I had to deal myself. Plus I saw at least one paranid expedition around wastelands /interworlds. I presume I see paranid more often because I tend to keep in argon space, for one reason or another. I saw NMMC shrike with several escorts traveling through xenon sector 347, and if I wasn't there those three Q's would tear him a new one. I saw several split incursions into boron space but nothing bigger then M7. I saw few boron task groups in argon space, probably went on spilt territory.

You need to get about a bit more. I regularly see these battles, just head around Ore Belt, CBSW/CBSE. You will often see them fighting and in Paranid Prime. I must admit I don't see many Split/Boron battles, but then their territory is separated by the Teladi sectors, you only see them at each other in Faded Dreams and Contorted Dominion.TTD wrote: I have played since X2. A Paranid rampage in Argon Prime makes me feel...
Had the Argons in Paranid Prime in my game a few times doing lots of damage I was tempted to help the Paranid out but having good relations with both species ended up being boringly neutral.
It is just one of those things as others have stated. If you are lucky it is time to scoop up some high value crates.

I hate the paranid, i want to stockpile some Paranid shipyards, and then wipe them all out someday.Paranoid66 wrote:A Paranid rampage in Argon Prime makes me feel...

Or maybe the Teladi. Annoying buggers.
But i was in a discoverer at the time, so i couldn't really face off against an oddy.
